So after drawing up a branching storyboard and comparing it to Langrisser II's plot labyrinth I have developed a little thing for FEF2 I would like you guys to look at:

Major Plot Points!
These would be moments in story where you could switch allegiances or determine where you group really is heading or whom do you officially or unofficially support. Depending on whom you follow - as the 'important' NPCs will change according to story - you will have different choices and different goals, which might or might not be better alternative compared to being pushed around by rebellious nobles at swordpoint. However if you do agree for this system do note that besides gaiden chapters, you won't have as much freedom in deciding 'where to go' - only at those aforementioned crucial storypoints (which might happen as often as between 2 or 3 chapters).

So there's that.

Hmmm....

On the one hand, plenty of avenues to jump the current set of plot rails in favor of another.

On the other hand, those becoming the only avenues we may choose.

This requires thought.

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

Close enough >:c

Besides, this sort of "branching" storyline only works for video games, since those can be replayed. Here, it's a little more difficult. I voted no here myself since I'd like us to have a bit more flexibility in regards to the plot, not for any trolling reasons or what  have you (Before you ask, haspen DID accuse me of trolling by voting no, thank you very much :P )

EDIT: And Langrisser II is a video game, by checking wikipedia.

I agree with Taricus' assessment, though through my initial vote I kinda was confused by the terminology (Langrisser II what?) and read the 'No!' option as 'Stick with the whole Rebels thing to the end'.

Point is, I'd prefer just general flexibility so long as Haspen's crazy diamond enough to handle it.

Eh. I voted yes before I realized we wouldn't have overall flexibility. I'd rather go with no, then.

I'm not sure I see the point in planning significantly for arcs we don't take, except as a curiosity, mostly because as Taricus says, there isn't replayability involved; it's unlikely that Haspen will run the same game however many times to go through the different story paths.  I haven't voted either way, yet.  A story that reacts to the decisions we make, certainly, but I'm not sure this is the most efficient way to go about it.

Leaving the option for more arcs open is good. Suggestion games and RPGs both do this. They don't, generally, plan each possible choice extensively. That was possible in FEF1 where we had very limited branches.

Hmm, fine.

I will just let you decide on the way and possibly improvise some good plot as you go and also where it sticks to overall rebel plot and evil emperor.

That's said now go back to FEF1 because I believe I'm still missing someone there :P
