It's one of those things that gets easier to do if you've done other art. It's like normal art, just more compact. Not that you can't learn it the harder way, I just cheated my way into it.

I just copy past the expressions that come with the sprite sheet for the face, makes a good base. With the absence of eyes, it does become marvelously easier because then I won't feel compelled to make combos of every mouth with every eye given. Still doesn't really give a wide range of facial expressions though, to be honest, and I don't trust myself to make anything resembling 'good' edits that are free handed.

So, what they said, although I'm making less of an effort because I'm becoming disillusioned with the mugs.

Thank you. Gimp is a monster and refuses to just take off all the pixels of one color like I want it to.
