Oh god, Chapter 1 of FEF. I agree, that was a major clusterfrag on all accounts. Other than Chapter 9, I think that was the one time we were most likely to take heavy losses.

I was thinking more of the time when freeform and emral were both down, with scapheap very close to two enemy units, while LITERALLY EVERYONE ELSE was on the other side of the map. If not for Daniel's evadehax, that probably would have resulted in at least two deaths.

Taric, the reason that this is a molehill is because the only remaining units are two rapidly dying weak prologue units and noone is down.

Problem is, even when we did have semiunilateral strategy back in the early chapters, we fell down in droves. We've done an excellent job of recovering via collaboration.
Even chapter nine, which you keep using to ward off argument, is being recovered from nicely by collaborative strategy.
We don't need one person making strategy. You're as prone to mistake as a whole group is.

1. Yeah, lack of consensus on the plan was part of the problem- Not something being repeated here. You're the only one hounding me about this.

I would just love to hear how my behavior in-game (or out) is similar to the formulater of such amazing plans as 'kill the unidentified rider in allied territory', 'burn down the mansion that could be holding the loot we're after' and 'antagonize the man who wants to use my face skin as a funeral shroud'. The way I have fun is my way. Don't start comparing it to yours- You hardly know me.

5. Sara said nothing IC until she decided to bitch about how no one was listening to her. Well, that and say that Sheila moving to engage an archer displays lack of trust to someone she met less than two hours ago.

And we don't need a drill sergeant. This is a gaming group, not a military unit.

6. I wasn't present until chapter 2 of FEF. Where following your battleplan got me run over by a squad of cavalry, if memory serves. Don't presume to tell me what to do and then berate me for not listening. FEF isn't a single player game, Deal With It.

Pretty much this. I'm not going to follow a strategy someone else gives unless it's logical and agreed upon by more than one person. That's how we currently have no deaths in chapter 9 of FEF1: Culise, Crimson, Sirus and everyone else bouncing back forth ideas, stats, etc.

Plus, from an IC standpoint, people are more likely to follow someone who is agreed upon as a leader. Not someone with charisma who just takes up a leaderly position and expects everyone to follow them.
