Damon slowly strode towards the Witch with his flamethrower held at the ready. He’d readily admit that he was nervous but he was certain that the awesome power of his flamethrower would keep anything from happening. He’d seen one of these things take a huge chunk out of Jeffrey earlier so he knew what to expect.

Jeffrey, for his part, was the only person in the group who held some doubts towards the validity of the “burn the witch” plan that the group had agreed on. He didn’t know what it was but the way the last one had cut through him as easily as if he were paper made him weary of this one.

“Mea culpa!” Damon shouted the only latin phrase he knew as he unleashed a torrent of flame at the creature who had started to stand at his approach. For a beautiful few seconds the group took the silence as a sign that the plan had worked. Unfortunately the shriek that occurred a second later put that idea to rest.

The unstructured anarchy that followed very nearly cost the group two members. Damon took his chainsaw from his back as he backpeddled away from both the Witch and his Flamethrower, which he had dropped, in a desperate bid to rev it up in time. Thankfully he managed to remove one of the creature’s arms just before it tore into him. Barely dodging the second he removed one of her legs but still she kept coming.

The rest of the group took the witche’s near comical flailing towards Damon as the cue to open fire. Ugly Jim and Clair unloaded on the now prone form with all they could manage. Unfortunately a burst from Jim and a bullet from Clair’s rifle hit Melody in the arm and leg respectively sending the leather clad woman to the ground. In a desperate bid to put down the demon that was dragging itself towards Damon almost as fast as he could move away she pulled out her pistols and began unleashing bullets at her.

One of the bullets clipped Damon’s leg. Momentarily forgetting the Witch he clutched at his leg. Too late did he realize the folly of this as the witch nearly tore his leg off with one swipe of her claw and tugged the bleeding teen to the ground with her.

Trapped under the burning infected Damon did his best to fight her off. Luckily without her other arm he only had to worry about the one. But even this proved too difficult as the lightning fast swipes could only be evaded by luck for so long. The long sharp claw of the witch tore into his torso with an almost practiced ease. Damon vaguely wondered why these uber-zombies all seemed to try to kill only him.

Damon watched as the Witch’s arm raised in the air for a coup-de-grace strike that would end his life. With an almost accepting look he watched the claw descend.

With a scream the Witch slumped over Damon’s unmoving body.

“Damon!” Ugly Jim shouted as he started forward leaving Melody alone for a second at the girl’s own decision.

“I’m fine!” Damon shouted as he slowly crawled out from under the burning corpse.

“You’re alive!? How?” Mark shouted as he slammed a new clip into his SMG. The adrenaline coursing through his veins made everything seem more urgent.

“She died mid-swipe I guess…” Leaning himself up against a wall Damon chuckled “See guys? The plan worked…”

Why was Melody able to fire twice when incapped even though she’d already taken some actions? Why didn’t she go into over-watch? Simple, because you can take two firing actions while incapacitated. She took three while non-incapped.

A bit of clarification on bleeding out and burning. In the rules it says “Per Survivor Turn”. That’s just so I’m not typing “The Witch is burning [-20]” for every tick. Those kind of increments will only occur if it’s really down to the wire stuff [Say if Damon had 20 health left, instead of bleeding out -20 all at once he’d get -5 per tick]. So that’s why you guys see behind the scenes there a little bit.

-Alphabetized the ability names.

Infected[
-Added “No Brainer” ability to “CEDA Infected”
-The “Hunter Roll” ability now takes effect on 15+
-The Hunter no longer takes double damage if his Pounce fails.
-The Spitter’s “Acid Pile” ability no longer allows the spit to spread. Furthermore, the spit disappears on the third turn it’s around.
-The Spitter’s “Spit” ability has a shorter cool-down [Four turn as opposed to six]
-The Witch now has 5 AP as opposed to 4.
-Psycopaths may now occur at any time, though they are weighted towards crescendos.
