Open big door
Move to Z20
Shoot any infected seen, starting with anyones that look out of the ordinary.

Jim looked at the sign on the door stating

Fire door
This door is alarmed
Opening will set off alarm

"Well, damn. That's gonna be loud. Might draw them infected right to us.

Once the door is opening, shoot any visible undead and if I have turns remaining go into overwatch.

A weighty sigh escaped Ugly Jim’s lips as he read aloud “Caution: This is a fire exit door only. Alarm will sound if door is opened.” Turning to the rest of the group he stated “This’ll probably bring a lot of those poor sick people running right to us.”

“Cause they’re attracted to noise?” Ali asked hoping that Jim would say no.

“I think so.”

“Not really. They’re attracted to high pitch noises. Loud noises are a secondary target. That’s why they don’t all rush us when we shoot.” Damon contradicted.

“Well let’s open the door then. They haven’t stopped us yet.”

“Have you ever encountered a hoard Clair?” Damon asked in a condescending tone.

“Yeah, a Boomer vomited on me. Attracted a ton of them.”

“That’s no hoard.” Surprisingly it was Mark who spoke this time “That was just a large group. A hoard… I saw it on TV. They… hundreds of them… Maybe more I don’t know. They came from nowhere when that stores alarm went off. Even those special ones seemed to like it.”

“Well actually they don’t seem to be attracted to anything. From what I can tell they’re just attracted to humans in general.”

“Blah blah blah let’s just kick ass!” Clair stated as she hopped over a desk “If none of you cowards will open it I will.”

“Wait!” Mark shouted with a  surge of authority that stayed Clair’s hand “I’ll do it.”

“You sure? We don’t know what’s on the other side of this door.” Ugly Jim stated as he held up his palm to stop Mark.

“Of course I’m sure. Why do you think they called me the Door opener in High School?” Mark put his hand on the handle of the door.

“Why?” Ali asked.

With a small smile Mark turned to her “They didn’t.” and with that he launched the large door open.

As the high pitched shriek of the alarm sounded another sound, this one more human, also rose in the air. It was the stuff of nightmares as they Infected began pouring from the empty hallways.

The turn will be posted tomorrow. I'm going to try something a bit different this update. Granted it's entirely on the Infected side and will stay behind the screens. Hopefully it'll make stuff easier on me. If not... Well then updates will take a LONG time.

”This alarm’s pissing me off!” Ali uncharacteristically yelled as she unleashed another volley of lead at the infected “It keeps calling these things!”

“It’ll stop eventually!” Ugly Jim yelled as he felt the weighty kick of his shotgun as he launched another group of infected sprawling down the hallway.

“Take this fuckers!”

“THEY’RE ALREADY DEAD CLAIR!!!” Ugly Jim yelled as he saw her waste another shell on dead targets. He didn’t want to yell, but the surprise of a Spitter leaping around the corner to lob a ball of her noxious spit at him cause him to break his personal ‘Yelling is bad’ rule.

“Guys I’m out!” Mark yelled as his SMG clicked for want of more bullets.

“I’m running dry!”

“CHARGER!” Damon shouted as he saw a hulking form dash down the hallway with the remenants of a suit of body armor on its dangling right arm whereas its left arm was larger than Clair and Ali put together.

“What?”

“It’ll pound the shit out of you!” Damon yelled as he fired at the beast who didn’t even seem to register the bullets striking it. “I’m out!”

Okay good news/Bad news.

Good News: I like this “Grouping” as opposed to the old “Infected 1-3” as it saves me a lot of time to just treat them as one entity that weakens when damaged.

Bad News: A lot of wasted ammo due to reaction shots so I’m gonna try a new system next update where if someone’s already killed the thing you’re taking a reaction shot to you roll a D20 and if you get above a certain number [probably 6+squares away from target] you just don’t shoot. So if Clair is 5 spaces away from Ali and Ali’s already killed the target than if Clair rolls [6+5=11] 11 or higher she won’t waste a shot.

It’s either that or everyone only gets one reaction shot and automatically stops after that. It’d certainly make the commons more of a threat and would reduce the “Just Covering Fire” thing that seems to be happening.

Another thought I had was to have a few variations of “Covering Fire” where Covering Fire would only shoot once and “Overwatch” would shoot as many times as possible.

I dunno… Thoughts?
