You cannot scale rubble. Remember children, trucks act like walls when it comes to movement and line of sight. So take that for what you will.

Blam-blam-blam-blam!

The constant chattering of Jeffrey’s M16 ended just as the chattering of the charger did. The giant beast lay dead in a pool of what the survivors hoped was just its own blood.

Damon took this time to run to the end of the building he had been pressed against to avoid the spitter’s rapidly increasing acid pile. Glancing around the corner he was greeted with the disgusting visual of the white haired spitter. She was several steps away and simply stared at Damon for a few seconds as though thinking. Before Damon could think to raise his gun however she ducked behind an alarmed car.

‘Damn…’ He thought to himself before he felt a small biting pain in the soles of his feet. Looking down he saw the glowing pile of goo beginning to settle around his feet ‘Shit!’

With that final thought Damon made a mad dash for car nearby the fuel truck. Taking a quick peek he saw the tank at the end of the road though it didn’t seem to notice him. Hopping over the hood of the car Damon landed on the other side and sat down clutching his gun. ‘Please don’t come closer…’

The youth listened for several seconds before he began to inch his way towards the side of the fuel truck only to find a rifle thrust into his face.

“What’s the password scum?” Clair whispered with a grin.

“Uh… Shrek?”

“… You got lucky this time. You see anything over there? I hear one of the apes.”

“I saw him. He’s down the road by a big truck. Seems preoccupied with… something. I don’t know what though.”

“Hm… Hey Jeffrey.” Clair whispered as she made a few signs to Jeffrey. The mute man took a few second and made a couple himself.

“What’s he say?”

“He says he doesn’t like that they Gorilla has a friend nearby but that she shouldn’t be too hard to take care of… He also thinks we should do something about him sooner rather than later just in case some more of his friends show up.”

“I assume there’s no alternate route?”

“Not unless you can climb… fifty feet of rubble.”

“Fifty feet!?” Damon nearly broke his whisper.

“Well… I’m not good at measuring…”

“Right…”
