“So how’re we gonna handle this?” Melody asked Ali as the two lagged behind due to Melody’s injuries and Ali’s reluctance to go forward.

“Probably the same way we always handle it.” Ali shrugged as she glanced around.

“And that is?”

“We… Uh… Usually just wing it. It’s worked out pretty well so far.”

“Hold up.” Mark said as he peered into the darkness before him “I think I see something moving in this room over here.”

“Probably the Boo-“ Damon started but was cut short by the sound of a maniacal laughter rushing at the group from down the hallway.

“Hunter!” Ugly Jim shouted.

“No that’s the Jock- OH Shit!” Damon shouted as he noticed that a Hunter was running right beside the laughing dwarf.

“Fuck! Whatever just shoot it!” Ali shouted as she loosed a round at the Jockey and barely missed it.

Jeffrey, for his part, seems almost amused at the headlong rush. It was a rather poor strategy. Even if one of the beasts pinned one of them what would happen? There were seven people with powerful guns. They’d be destroyed before they even got off a claw.

Luckily he was right. The combined firepower of Jeffrey, Mark, and Clair reduced the two infected to nothing but carcasses in no time. Damon and Ugly Jim didn’t even get a chance to use their Shotguns.

“Well that was ea-“
*BLURRRRRRGH!*
“Ggggh!” Mark’s celibration was cut short by copious amounts of bile coming from the doorway they had forgotten about due to the other specials. Mark caught the worst of it with a large amount going into his mouth and some even going down his throat as he reflexively swallowed. Unfortunately the rest of the team sans Melody and Ali were also coated.

“Shit! Does anyone see it!?” Melody shouted. She’d only seen a gout of vomit coming from a dooway and didn’t think she could hit anything through the wall without seeing where it was.

“It’s in my eyes!”

“I can’t see!”

“Oh god it’s in my mouth!  BLUGH!” Mark vomited himself just seconds before a tongue wrapped around him and started dragging him off.

“Mark? Where are you?” Ugly Jim shouted as he tried in vain to wipe the bile from his eyes.

“Help!”

“I got you!” Ali shouted as she fired her Hunting Rifle at the Smoker but the creature stayed standing and only doubled its attempts at dragging Mark away.

“Damn it!” Ali shouted as she tried to reload her rifle quickly.

“ARAAAAAAAAAACH!” Came what sounded like hundreds of infected from just outside the office walls.

“Fuck!” Shouted Damon.

Things were gonna get bad very quickly.

“You guys get the Smoker and Mark! I’ll handle the boomer!” Damon shouted as the majority of his team rushed forward, almost blindly, to assist Mark. Ali and Clair stayed behind in order to provide covering fire as needed, watching the front door of the office building catiously. It was the only avenue for infected approach.

Damon stumbled into the dark office and looked around carefully for the boomer. But with the bile in his eyes he was having a hard time seeing anything. “You fat fu-AGH!” The Boomer, apparently, decided now was a good time to play as he hopped in front of Damon and attempted to claw the young man’s throat. In a fit of panic Damon fired his shotgun but only succeeded in hitting the wall as the Boomer began slashing at his face. His tubby arms flailing in a hilarious fashion though Damon disagreed with that assessment as pain started overcoming his pills affect.

The others were doing much better thankfully… At first.

While Mark did get a loving clawing from the Smoker Jeffrey shoved the lanky creature causing it to retract its tongue entirely and stumble backwards. It was about this time that common infected started to pour into the building. Obviously at least fourty five. Any further counting was stopped by Ali who shot the Smoker twice.

It had been such a long time since they’d foughten a Smoker that most of the survivors had forgotten one of its more impressive powers: Emitting Smoke.

As its body crumbled it released a copious amount of foul-smelling but harmless green gas that blocked the approaching infected from the Survivors sight. Unfortunately the foul-smelling bile kept the infected right on course as they poured from the smoke with murderous intentions.

None felt this more than Ugly Jim who was closest. Despite being unable to see them in full he got a brief glimpse of a large mob of hands and feet approaching him quickly beating his bulky frame to the ground before he could even remember he had a weapon, much less use it.

Thankfully a well-placed shot by Ali managed to kill a large number of the infected that had ran out of the smoke. Hopefully it hit some of those in the fog as well… But there was no way to be sure.

Jeffrey, for his part, was managing to remain calm. A single thought was racing through his mind ‘It’s gonna get worse.’

Just gonna put this here. I just NOW finished the survivor ticks. I’m gonna go ahead and predict this will end badly… Very very badly.

Infected Tick 2: Haven’t started it yet but… I can already tell that Ugly Jim getting hit 18 times by 5 damage infected won’t be fun. Maybe I put a bit too much in the way… I was feeling that you guys were blowing through too easily. I might have swung too far in the other direction. Hm… Let’s see how this goes.

Infected ticks done: Well… That went better than I expected. Hooray for narrow corridors. That being said… Do you guys thing 9 is too high of a number to allow the groupings to get? Do you think I’m cheating for the infected or do you feel like it’s fair? I really want to know.

Also I’m redoing how I’m uh… doing Passing Through. The first target affected determines if a “Stray Bullet” happens. Then if the first shot hits the second target is rolled for. If that one works than the third is targeted. So on and so forth until it misses someone. At that point the bullet just…gets lodged in someone rib-cage or something. Should make shotguns close up a bit less problematic with allies nearby and rifles stop being an automatic hallway sweeper.

Proposed Change: Non-pinning attacks by the infected have an accuracy roll on par with a Survivors Melee weapons. Thoughts?

Yeah, this update was not a happy time for the survivors.

To be fair, usually over 2/3's of the team isn't supposed to get bile'd. Generally i'm thinking 1-2... Maybe 3 people bile'd at once. But... Yeah. Like I said, not happy times.
