do not hit Jim[/b]
+1

Ah yes, the good ol' days when there was only Covering Fire and you could hit allies while in it. I'm sure the bunch of you will eventually escape the city and look back at Ugly Jim's bullet wounds, claw marks, acid burned feet, and light charring [that seals in the tender juicy flavor] and laugh.

((Sorry... :())

Melody made an immediate break for the shotgun, welcoming its familiar feel in her hands. Wounds forgotten, she smiled with satisfaction.

"Hell yeah!" she laughed.

Mark grimaced as he picked up an M16 from the pile of weaponry. Setting his old SMG down, almost reverently, he tried to get a feel for the weight of the weapon. “It’s heavy…” He complained lightly to himself. “So uh… Has anyone used any of these before?” He asked the group only to get blank stares in return.

“Well yeah… You’ve seen us using guns before… Mark? I think? Yeah you’re Mark.” Melody replied while Jeffrey nodded as he picked up his own M16 and looked down the sights and checked the action.

“No I mean… We’ve been using civilian weapons right? Shotguns and pistols… Hell even the SMGs are sorta civilian model. You CAN get them at any rate.” Mark stated as he mimicked Jeffrey though he didn’t really know what he was supposed to look for.

“So what’s your point? I’ve used the Flamethrower. It wasn’t tha-“

“That’s my point!” Mark stated turning towards Damon “You almost roasted Jim alive! What if these guns have like… Something weird going on with them?”

Ugly Jim, Damon, and Melody all seemed to be having second thoughts about their choice in weaponry at that. Maybe Mark was right. They didn’t have any military training. Who was to say they even knew how to reload the damn things? Sure they looked simple enough but the seed of doubt had been planted.

Jeffrey, for his part, simply chuckled a raspy chuckle and walked over to Mark before grabbing the M16 from the young man’s hands. With a bit of bravado he made a small demonstration of how to reload an M16. It was a lot simpler than Mark had worried. More complex than reloading the SMG however.

Turning to each of the others he held his hand out for a shotgun. It was Damon who surrendered his first. Jeffrey did the same for the three of them. Then handed the Shotgun back to Damon.

“Uh… Thanks Jeffrey…” Damon mumbled as he tried reloading it for himself after removing several shells from the gun. It was pretty simple actually.

‘Civilians…’ Jeffrey chuckled to himself as he walked outside the room to reuinite with Ali and Clair who were discussing what they wanted to do after they were rescued.

“… and then I’ll start up a samurai club!” Clair said gleefully before noticing Jeffrey “Oh! You guys finally pick out your guns?”

Jeffrey lifted his M16 in response.

“Kick ass! I think I’ll stick with this for now though. I got good ol’ Hexe Messer goin’ for me close up.” Clair smiled as she ran her hand over the weapon at her belt.

“I still have no idea what that means… She won’t tell me.” Ali smiled as she watched the rest of the gang sans Melody exit the room. Melody seemed to be practicing once more with reloading the gun.

“What what means?” Damon asked as he took a point position next to Jim and Mark.

“Hexe Messer… It’s what she’s calling her sword.”

“You know German?” Mark asked turning towards Clair.

“What’s German?”

Mark stared at Clair for several moments before realizing that she was entirely serious. “Well uh… It means-“

But the lesson in linguistics was cut short as the group heard several deep gurgles coming from up ahead.

“Boomer!” Clair shouted happily. She liked the way the popped.

“Yeah, be careful everyone.” Ugly Jim cautioned.

Jeffrey nodded before he heard a series of thuds that sounded like several hands tearing at a door. Turning towards Clair he signed [Other infected up ahead as well]

“Hey guys, hear that? Jeffrey says there are other infected ahead.” Clair stated aloud for the benefit of the others.

Mark sighed. He should have known things wouldn’t stay this calm. “Well… This isn’t anything special right? We can handle this.” And to his surprise he actually meant it. Only the big guys and witches had been giving them trouble. Why should this time be different? It wasn’t like the infected got stronger when they got better weapons right?

Right?

Yeps… I’m gonna PM Max today and ask when he’s coming back. Anyways… I can’t think of anything else to say.

((I would hope you would inform us if you moved us up to Expert. Particularly when we're already short on hit points right now.))

((Scapheap, Clair should definitely crouch before overwatching. All of you should crouch before overwatching if you have the AP left for it))

Move to AC52
Crouch
Overwatch. Do not hit allies.

Can we make that last part just kind-of an 'always applies unless I insanely say otherwise?'

Oh hey look at that! I've actually updated the campaign poster! It was a bit experimental and will probably be changed eventually but... Oh well... Anyway I didn't actually change the difficulty on you guys. That was just a kind of lampshading thing.

I couldn't find a flamethrower in time. Like I said I want to edit the poster over time. After all, Jeffrey, Melody, and Mark aren't actually posed at all [Just NPC's]. Damon's pose is a bit off and I couldn't find a Flamethrower in time [I wanted to change it sooner rather than later].

So I'll probably fuck around with it over time.

Dunno about the picture, i think Jim need to be being attacked by chargers while on fire with the rest of the team shooting him to better reflect the game so far.
