So, my old ZX Spectrum died today, and I am too cheap/poor to buy myself a new one (well, an old new one), I've been looking into emulators. But holy carp, there's a lot of them.

Any recommendations or do I choose one blindly?

There's rarely a piece of pre 90's electronics that can't be fixed with a soldering iron and the right bits.

Here's a decent list of available ones with a little summary for each, along with dates, which makes it easier to find recent/updated ones.
