Thank you for this mod

Hello

I have returned to DF after a long absence and picked up this mod. Previously I had only played vanilla. I must say that what you and the other modders have done in this download pack has realy improved the DF experience. So much new and useful functionality. I can never go back to playing vanilla DF after all the useful tools like the searchfunction, dwarf therapist and DF hack. Also all the new content in form of new races and workshops is really welcome. One can just hope that Toady adds some of this into the vanilla DF.

So I am a couple of years into my first game. In a pretty peaceful embarking location and had a couple of interesting encounters. I noticed one guy staring at my refuse stockpile. I kind of had a bad feeling about this so I built an altar of Armok and gave him the praying trait, designated him via the workshop profile and tried to sacrifice him to Armok. After setting all this up I got a invation and kind of forgot about it. A while later the guy turned into a necromacer and promptly raised all the dead dwarfes in my burial room and slaughtered the unfortunate people visiting their dead. Fortunetly for me I had some doors on this room witch I used to lock the undead inside.
In conclusion: Well played MW.

So now I am trying to figure out what to do about this. I have no military worth to speak off, but I have some captured Ice wizards which invaded me earlier. So I am thinking about digging a hole from above into my burial room and dropping them down there. Will they start fighting amongst each other? Who do you think will win? How can I sacrifice the correct people? Do I make a burrow around my altar and add the guy who I want to be sacrificed? Will the guy with the praying trait collect him and do the dead?

In conclusion, thank you again for this modpack, it is wonderful.

First of all thanks for the praise.

A good solution would be to make a hellfire-landmine in the machine farctory and drop it in there. The warlocks will fight as well, but I cant say who would win.

Your idea about the sacrifices is correct, a dwarf with praying labor enabled will go to the temple, run the reaction, and then die. Sadly, I did not convert the reactions (which spawns a boiling rock) to use a dfhack script called autosyndrome, which gives it a 100% success rate. Currently the dwarf has to inhale the gas from the boiling rock, which can happen every time 10 times in a row, or not at all. I wanted to update this for two versions now, and always forget about it. -.-

You can also weaponize your necromancer and route the next siege to him.
