Of only he'd had time to work on the details. Some kind of wound, inflicted by magic, left to heal. Time to wait for and find an incident which could fit his story. Time to review his story, make sure it had no holes, figure out more fully how his invented history would affect his mannerisms. But, it would have to work as-is.
