"We don't know that yet. It might be just correlated to your mana levels. I will consult Alucard, Lunette, maybe Yomiko on the effects of long-term mana deprivation. If the rotting only works as long as you have mana, we could just enchant a ring that drains mana faster than you regenerate it - effectively turning the rotting off as long as you carry the ring, but allowing you to turn it back on, should you need to. I fear however being constantly robbed of mana could have side effects, including your death, or the ring exploding like a magical nuke once it has absorbed a critical amount of mana. So I kinda hope emotions and willpower are a reliable enough way to supress your abilities.
