"Ah. You are right on both accounts. Though... Immortal is not the right word. We could still suffer death, but we never aged beyond our prime, nor did we suffer sickness or infirmity. Sadly things have changed since those glorious days. Nowadays Dog-headed men, bandits and knights errants all plague these woods, searching for the grail just as you. Of course such a holy relic would never fall into their hands, but they prove a danger for more honest folk."
