<I don't know, I was merely discussing hypothetical possibilities. It suspect that the knives are enchanted, as heirlooms tend to be because its a convenient way to not have to explain how it was enchanted it in-character. Perhaps the knives disintegrate the organs whilst the healing keeps them alive?>

<On a side note, I am pointing out that we are dealing with someone that has 100 years of experience in killing mages, and is capable of healing herself. We won't be able to simply subdue her and put her into prison, not if she has even a single second to realise what is going on. Whatever you decide, it must be done quickly. I could try and paralyse her, if you distract her, but I don't know if her self-healing abilities could counter-act the paralysis, so you will have to immediatly hold her down, so I can also attempt to seal or interfer with her magic.>
