"Peace talks you say? We are not at war with humanity, nor are we a menace. It's the giants that are a menace to *us*. But you are the descendant of a dragon ((assuming I caught that correctly)), so this is a viewpoint that you may never understand, because there might not be a single being in the world that doesn't take a dragon seriously. The overwhelming majority of humanity would fear you, the rest at the very least respect you. Nobody would ever think that dealing with you as they like is free of consequence, because you are the top of the food chain.

For my kind, that is different. Giants do not fear our needles. To most even the most desperate attacks are more of an annoyance than actually painful. Even here in this house. You talk about treating me like a sentient being? The majority of your comrades treats me like a *toy*. Not even out of malice, they are not bad people. But simply because they don't know any better. To them, toying with smaller beings has been, from birth, just a game. Look at Meme. She has been the most welcoming person towards me in this entire household, and yet her first instinct was to offer me to live inside a *toy*. There is something inheritly wrong in the worldview of giants that makes it impossible to attempt *peace talks*, because peace exists between equals.

I have seen the difference in strength between giants and our kind with my own eyes. I've seen your young ones tear out arms and legs, as a *game*. And worse. We *used* to attempt communication, once. It was a nice looking camper. We revealed ourselves, and at first, had nice talks. He showed great interest, and no malice whatsoever, and we held a festival to celebrate. Then he got drunk. The details of what happened next are different depending on whom you ask, but on the bottom line, he burned down a quarter of the city and ended almost a thousand lives before he was brought down. That day we received a grim reminder that as long as we can not stand as equals among giants, we must remain hidden, because to giants, our lives and our dignity means nothing. All it takes is a few malicious ones between those that are agreeable to bring suffering of proportions that a dragon can not understand, because such a viewpoint goes against your nature.

So stop talking of me as if I was a butcher who came to teach humans fear of our needles. I have not come to the giants to slay so many of them that they would come to fear us, but to join side by side amongst their strongest. Fight amongst them, against threats that are dangerous enough to threathen humanity, and stand victorious among them, as an equal and rival. Doing so will inspire future generations of my kind, that great things way and above their size are not out of grasp, and teach future generations of giants that we are not toys to play with as they please, and that consequences have to be expected. We shall earn humanities respect through valor. Only then, when the field has been leveled, can we come out of hiding."

Luca continues being adorable and awkward. And also now their trying to avoid Catherine. Because... there's reasons. Glomping reasons.
So.. they just continue sneaking around the house. Until... suddenly they run into Catherine.
"(oh crud.) Uh... Hi there...?"

And then Glomps ensue.

Belladonna raises an eyebrow. "I really couldn't answer that, I'm afraid. But first...You should really thank Asuna for saving your life."

Asuna displays the tiniest bit of emotion..a very slightly raised eyebrow, perhaps?

Asuna displays the tiniest bit of emotion..a very slightly raised eyebrow, perhaps?

Marten nods, "Thank you for saving my life, Asuna. It means a lot to me."

Asuna tilts her head as if confused. Then a rather playful looking Belladonna shoves her into a hug with Marten. Normally, Asuna would be more than agile enough to escape this, but Belladonna binds several of her joints with plants as she does so, just long enough to accomplish her aims.

...Asuna is soft, but cold...she feels almost lifeless, in a sense. She stays silent for a while, then pulls away and eventually settles upon a simple:

"You are welcome."

Ester finally wakes up. Seeing that her father is awake, she runs over to embrace him. "I was so worried," she cries.


Marten tries to comfort his daughter, "I know. Don't worry, it's all over now."

Belladonna and Asuna stand back to  let the two have their moment a bit.
