Right before Ashley does, Alice separates the field source from the man, no longer protected by the field, the enchantment instantly breaks from the house's field.
Ashley should have gotten all the data she needed.
Alice quickly leads Ashley out when the latter was done and takes her back to the living room, leaving the man's headless corpse lying in the prison. (Decapitations do not kill instantly, though death is merely seconds away when it occurs, Alice sliced off the man's head because the source was in his body, thus removing the location of his mind from its protection and allowing extraction in the moments before brain death occurred.)
