If you heard her argument earlier, she was defending Selina's actions and saying how Maria starved her of love or something, and how she's perennially exhausted, yet never tells anyone.

You got suppressed desires, and personality traits, because the Selina we know would never talk smack to Richard, let alone Maria. Hence, a pseudo-Shadow.<
