"That makes sense I suppose..." Cyrielle is tempted to go off and tease Richard, but decides not to. After all, it would send mixed messages now that she has decided not to pursue her romantic interest in him.

[Empiricist]

Cyrielle changes her mind and decides to go find Richard.

Richard is sitting on a bench.
"Hey, Cyrielle."

[Empiricist]

"Hello, I've decided that regardless of whether my feelings towards you are infatuation or actual love, I shall not pursue them. You can stop thinking of me as another potential love interest."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"I assume you want me and Camille to be happy?"

[Empiricist]

"Correct, you two make a cute couple anyhow and myself being involved won't add much."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

".....well then."
Richard resists the suddenly twice as attractive Cyrielle's charms and shakes his head.

He mentally slapped himself for even thinking that he could just suddenly desire her more. He couldn't do that, not without guilt. Cyrielle was his friend, and he had to respect her, no matter what his desires commanded him.

"Suppose it's just mates then?"

[Empiricist]

"Correct, and I do not intend to end up replicating one of those standard sequences which such a situation normally entails, so I'd rather just quit now before I start falling over in awkward positions and ending up in farcical misunderstandings."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"The moment you joined us, you signed up to be in a harem anime. Good on ya for avoiding it."
Richard smirked.

[Empiricist]

"Perhaps, however, if I must be in a harem, then I'd rather be in the peripheral one of someone I care about."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"Heh."
Richard gives Cyrielle a completely platonic hug.

[Empiricist]

Cyrielle reciprocates with what is definitely not a platonic hug. She then walks off back to Annie and Wheatley.

"...So, Alistair, anything else happen while we were gone?"

[IamanElfCollaborator]

Richard shrugs and returns to reading.
"Cyrielle, you still like him that way, don't you?"
"Apart from Iolodammus saving some people from being pulled in, not really."

[Empiricist]

"Of course I do. Hence I am letting him have a happy life with Camille."
