Anyone not going to school (and presumably those who are, too, but theirs was earlier) would be treated to food thanks to the new girl, who had been hungry and decided to make breakfast. Apparently she figured she might as well make it for everyone, since there's enough to feed an army of pretty much any breakfast food you can think of.
