Rather than trying to initiate a tug of war on a small person who probably wouldn't survive it, Asuna attempts to dart in and force Will's grip open before catching Hai and loweirng her gently (she has the DEX to do the latter).

This would probably make more sense if I could visualize it. Or I could see the glaring flaw that I might be failing to see right now.
