Less impact when you strike, more easy to parry and force back. More likely to break, though one of your weapons would not have that property. It'll be more easily turned by armor and won't do as much damage to defended opponents. Just what comes to mind immediately, though.

Depends on how strong it is. If he can produce enough thrust, completely, but it'd be draining on him. As for the weight problem, have you considered forming the distortions around a solid core? their nature should prevent the transfer of momentum, and the solid core would allow for more mass. Or you could fold the blade like you would when making a real katana, composing the actual blade of several hundred or thousand layers of distortions in order to increase the mass. it might even add additional strength to the blade, and would still be just as hard to break.

<Layering won't make much of a difference, it's rather light even if I do that, plus breaking strength isn't an issue. I did consider forming them over a core, but I unfortunately don't have any material to use nor am I remotely qualified to shape it. Would I still be able to use the current v-shaped design if it had an iridium core?>

By now, Cyrielle is back home with her siblings. She takes some break from studying her course and charging magic to see what they're up to.

Cyrielle gets a glass of water to drink and releases her charged magic in the form of a large robe with an inbuilt, featureless mask. It's easy to put on and take off since aside from the partial braces that keep it on its wearer and the mask, Cyrielle and other distortions (including parts of itself) phase through as if it isn't there. She folds it up and puts it aside for now.
Idly she looks at what Annie was doing, since Wheatley was presumably studying the same material as herself.

Cyrielle sounds uncharacteristically uncertain, which tended to often happen when discussing these matters.

"Very well, my apologies for bothering you then."
She opens her mouth as if to say something but stops and just returns to her work, fidgeting for a few moments, irritated at herself for caring that much about the opinions of others and further troubled by the fact that she was somehow annoyed by her own concern for her siblings. Letting out a soft sigh, she settles back into her study. Her studying schedule was capricious to say the least. Or perhaps schizophrenic was a more appropriate term. Sometimes she would study immediately after returning home until she slept, missing dinner in the process. Other times she would go out with friends and her siblings if they weren't busy. It didn't even seem to have any pattern matching exams and whatnot. She was just as likely to do the latter the days before an assessment as she was to perform the former.

Cyrielle gets up and packs away her study material.
"Goodnight Wheatley, goodnight Annie."
