Some of the magic users try. Many fail due to unloading their mana reserves, but the more conservative ones succeed and start work. It was funny really, they didn't even bother looking for friends or family, they just did the people closest to their location, too panicked to reason, to distinguish. Or perhaps compassion was more ingrained than nepotism, nevertheless, they began their hopeful yet skeptic work.
