Okay, back on topic, how will lore be handled? I have summaries of some of it below:
Here's a summary of the magic types:
"Magic" by definition fits as this.
Gods and the Divine are generally this.
Uses the after energies of creation.
Vulnerable to Void.
The Universe is Creation.
Often involves manipulation of the elements.
The counterpart to Creation.
Eldritch entities and the Infernal are generally this.
Represents the violations of laws and logic.
Vulnerable to Creation.
Exists in multiple simultaneous states. The states are collapsed by having external observers, hence there are some landmarks and features defined because it is pretty much always being observed.
Often involves teleportation ("voidwalking").
Everything that doesn't fit in the two main spheres of Creation and Void are this.
Known sections include:
- Persona - Basically Jungian psychiatry the given forms of mythological entities. People who use this have to face their suppressed aspects in order to gain the power to summon a representation of their own facades.
- Fate - One of the things cockblocking magical time travel. The universe post-vacuum decay, kills everything, ignores everything. Doesn't do shit. The only PC that used this is no longer involved as the player (that is, myself) quit.
- Wall Street - Eldritch power that is based off of interpreting everything from an economics point of view. Hardly ever used. No PCs use this as their ability. Involves share trading and auditing.
- The Gallery - Art as a supernatural force. Has multiple mediating entities. Dadaism may or may not be involved.
Other lore aspects:
As a general rule of thumb, they can't be bothered doing shit. Creator gods tend to be the most powerful.
Vary in gender. The remaining fifth horsemen is retired and his job was taken up by one of the current ones. Has little to do with the actual apocalypse.
They exist. They have alliances. Most don't give a fuck about Earth. Layar tried to invade Earth for vital resources. They failed. Presumably they have to buy those resources now.
Only relativity-based time travel is allowed. That is, people can only travel forwards in time. Generally by moving really quickly. A cosmic entity actively prevents any other cases of it from occurring. Indigenous Australian Ancestral Spirits are exceptions to this rule due to being metatomporal and not really ever getting involved or using that trait.
They exist. They just woke up. They're doing fuck all.
About 1-2% of the population can. Magic was only known publicly after the Layar invasion because there weren't any threats a bullet to the head couldn't fix before then.
Exists. Got depowered, possibly out of sheer pity for a very poorly executed attempt to stop one of her regular murder sprees. Currently sealed. Hears people's prayers and it pisses her off.
Act more like succubi/incubi in terms of what powers them. Were invading Japan but kinda stopped halfway since the person running them is hardly online now.
Doesn't give a fuck unless people commit a lot of tax evasion without any good reason. Is a Wall Street entity that can neutralize information and fundamental forces along with everything else. Does fuck all mostly. Sends unclaimed souls to Heaven or Hell.
Deities run their own afterlives, they choose souls that fit in with them. Really unlucky people accidentally lodge themselves in Fate and get erased from existence (very rarely) or end up in the Void's soul mill where basically the same thing happens (rare, but more common).
Tiny people. Near extinction. Use weaponized acupuncture. Consider dubstep to be classical music.
Enchanted Equipment:
Owned by Sen. Uses Wall Street. A small stone, can transmute things to other things that have a market price. Can only transmute what touches it, so a lot of rubbing is required to transmute a block of something and only the outside would be affected.
Owned by Ashley. Uses Wall Street. Non-lethally seals an enemy's strength with each hit until they collapse and are neutralized. Can reduce damage when parrying.
Owned by just about every single PC. Uses Creation with a bit of Void and Fate. Allows secure ranged communication and teleportation to other bracelets as well as though sharing. Has a very poor track record in the latter case.
Owned by Will. Uses Fate. Similar to a scopeless sniper rifle, stabs people from long range repeatedly to encode a binary code. Goes through walls and may allow an incompetent eldritch entity to possess them and accidentally screw up their bodily functions. The actual attacks deal very low damage though.
Owned by Will. Uses Creation. Allows the user to see organs and only organs, designed for use with something that can fire through walls.
Owned by ICARUS. Uses Creation. A blade that can cut through armor, more effective when powered up by mana. Deals extra damage to gods, presuming that the god in question can even be damaged.
Owned by Will. Uses Creation. Coated with an acidic poison that doesn't act like a real acid or poison.
Imbued into Kyle. Uses Creation. Allows Kyle to pretty much knock up anything. Including inanimate objects. And lines of code.
Owned by Jacqueline. Uses Creation. If something is killed by these, they get erased from existence. Compels the owner to kill. Should their owner die, they will revive, this feature is recharged by killing someone. Prevents their owner from aging.
Other notes:
Drink spiking, drinking vessel spiking, air spiking, furniture spiking and the like are generally not accepted as ways to resolve a plot. Rock offs and Rap battles however are accepted by some plots.
A lot of the female cast seem to be homosexual. A fair proportion of the cast also seem to be polygamous.
Far too high. Especially considering the absurd brevity of each individual post.
