on a side note, Zhengara sucks hard at intimidation. first he claims we can't defeat him anyway, then he starts bargaining for a different solution. This guy is very obviously in distress. I played years of diplomacy. This is a pattern that repeats itself

if I had to guess, I'd reckon anima would wait until the group has weakened Zhengara to the best of their ability. Zhengara can resist being bound by Anima while at peak performance. Once gravely wounded and in a powerful anti magic field, that's an entirely different story
