I'll summarize:
-unconsolidated: dissipates quickly, flows but the way in which it flows causes it to be somewhat explosive, sharp
-semiconsolidated: non-rigid, not breakable, transmits force well, sharp with magic input, requires a lot of magic
-consolidated: rigid, not breakable, transmits force well, requires some magic
-Annie & Wheatley's stuff: fucked if I know, I never expected that when determining the mechanics

1. Sharp is more of an approximate term since it's a eldritch thing that damages what it tunnels through.
2. Yeah, but all forms of it don't attenuate or mitigate forces. (excluding whatever the hell Annie and Wheatley made their bodies out of)

You claimed on the tropes page that, since the bones would be insubstantial, attacks would go right through them. But if the kind of distortions that made up the bones weren't insubstantial, that argument is invalid.

No, it wasn't that they were insubstantial, it's that they don't mitigate or attenuate force. A sword slice's force won't spread out once it hits the bone, it will get attenuated on the other side by flesh and whatnot but the only real damage reduction would be from stopping the bone and since the bones are rather light and (assuming aerogel was used) the flesh is as well, it could easily dislocate bones. Assuming someone hits it horizontally across the stomach, its just going to go through the flesh and eject a vertebrae or two, possibly bisecting it.

Wouldn't the whole distortion move with the blade or whatever, dispersing the force greatly?

Not exactly, the part the blade contacts with will displace for a split-second and snap-back. So if we're talking about the sternum being stabbed, part of it (matching the shape of the blade) will be displaced by the blade and be driven into whatever is behind it before snapping back to its original position relative to the rest of the bone.

Similarly, if Kyle were to have his attack parried or blocked, the hilt of his katana will continue moving forwards for a split second before snapping back and presumably spraining his wrist.

Fun Fact: Ester was originally going to be a crazy psycho-stalker of Kyle's. Don't ask me what that would have entailed. Probably thousand-yard stares, knives in bed and other fun stuff. Instead Ester mellowed out and became a stalker fangirl of everyone. Isn't that much, much better?
