Basically, they themselves don't participate in fights, instead using their persona's support powers to strengthen the team overall by analyzing targets and figuring out how to eliminate them efficiently (finding their weaknesses, basically). Will would also be helpful for those that have a hard time hitting (Neferis) or have attacks that require pinpoint accuracy (anyone using the Gauntlet, Nodoka since she technically has to hit a point about the size of a dime with some of her attacks) by using his hyper intuition to give them exact patterns of attack for their given situation. It'd also help if we end up fighting Danmaku battles or something.
