On the subject of Ashley's other child, if it hasn't been explained:

The child that was kyle and hers was similarly affected by the Void as her upon entering Ashley's body, as it is essentially a fragment of the void, but due to being a fetus was unable to emerge or otherwise interact with... anything, it ended up passing on to the void itself in short order, where it would be mutated and changed by the void, which shaped it to fit a need that it had, which required a being born of creation and void in unison, which is normally impossible. However, due to the baby's unique nature, it managed this impossibility, and was later born into this status via a trigger event fitting for the birth of a child.
