That's what her Paper control minor is for. It allows her to waste a turn to draw back all of her spent Paper. granted it doesn't work on paper that is wet

I hate to say it, but I think the negatives for Selina should be left to Cado. He has done a good job of keeping her from becoming too OP.
Yeah, I guess. If Cado's willing to suggest alternatives for downsides he doesn't like, I'll see if I can make them work. (Or he could assemble his own version of Selina's ability.)

So... her small 25-50 stat summons are okay, but once she gets to 100+ territory shes threatening her ability to act.
The way Selina's ability is now, it's probably a better idea to make her creations ahead of time.

Negligable: Creation of small mundane items or medical supplies.

Small: Creation of Armor, Weapons, and Minor Gear. 25 stat summon. (TN: No Roll, 2 mana cost)

Medium: Medium Explosives, Higher Quality Gear, Furniture, Minor spells summoned from the paper, 50 stat summon (TN:3, costs 5 mana)

Big: Moderate spells, Very good (temporary) gear, 75 stated summons. (TN:3, Drawback- Minor exhaustion lowers speed by 4 for 6 turns. costs 7 mana)

Enourmous: 100 stated summons, or three 25 stated summons. (TN: 9, 20% chance to fall unconscious, Minor exhaustion lowering speed by 4 for 6 turns costs 10 mana)

Gigantic: 125 stated summons, or three 50 stated summons, or five 25 stated summons. (TN: 7, Drawback- Major exhaustion lowers speed by 8 for 8 turns, becoming Moderate exhaustion. 65% chance to falls unconscious. costs 14 mana)

by the way, I have been thinking, for high level spells, chances of not passing the TN is rather high. Get just a bit unlucky, and you can spend a long time casting nothing at all.


I propose that after a failed cast, the TN for immediatly trying again reduces by 3. That way, it's basicaly saying "couldn't manage to gather the energy quickly enough, but next turn, can finish the spell".

And how do you propose I try to balance something like that? The only abilities I can think of that involve creating items are Gizmos and Snatcher; the latter has a bunch of restrictions you all hate, the former has a bunch more that really can't be worked around. If we're going to try and use GURPS to balance things, we have to use GURPS to balance things. Or at least to approximate the things we're balancing.

From what I can tell, GWG is working through GURPSing the PCs' abilities, some people are trying to stockpile lore, and some characters are still being recreated and polished.

Would the mana also keep around for the one turn going by that logic? Since mana is the energy itself.

well, mana is spent when the spell is succesfully cast, but I guess if you are shooting someone with your mana drain pistol while he is casting, that casting may be fucked

I was asking about when you fail getting something like no mana cost for casting again for one turn or just having a reduced mana cost for the second cast.
