First off, I do not condone anything they did :|

Secondly, it's an entire race that feeds off of that. It would make sense for them to have a completely different view of what the rules for it are. Hell, she probably saw it as a kind of wish-fulfilment for her, since Yuri is probably not going to have ANY chance to do that sort of thing in the near future and Selina wanted it.
