Incarnation RPG
« on: August 18, 2013, 12:39:54 pm »

Sleepily, you drift over the void. Waiting, but not watching, for you do not have the power to see. It shames you, being so weak. But there is nothing you can do without an opening. You dream of a shape, of a form. Of a life once held, and the powers you held there. And suddenly a drop of them returns. An island world takes shape in your mind’s eye. It has changed since you left. Creatures scurry over it’s surface, unknowing, unsuspecting of what floats around them. Waters flow of it’s edge, only to loop under and upwards, reemerging in a mile high spring from the centre of the oceans. A tiny island rests beside the geyser, and around it sits three continents. The northernmost, ranging from white to green, passing round to the southernmost, from greens to reds and yellows. The westernmost is more vibrant, mountains blending into rivers and foliage. It is here that you attention is inexorably drawn, and in particular to one small cleft in the coastline.
There is a cavern here, deep underground. A battle is fought, for the safety of many. Either way, some of the few will die. A dwarf, or a dragon. But neither are as they appear. Both pulse with power before your gaze. Power so close to release. So close to you. you can taste it on a tongue that fades as soon as it arrived. Feel it in shifting limbs. Form begins to flood you in anticipation. But what form is it? What strengths will be bestowed on you in this new life?

My dreams are not unlike yours - they long for the safety, and break like a glass chandelier.
But there's laughter and oh there is love, just past the edge of our fears.
And there's chaos when push comes to shove, but it's music to my ears.

Body:  d4
Mind:  d6
Soul:  d8
Avatar: Looks like a normal man though he is unnaturally good looking.
Personality:  Preferring to talk other into doing what he wants this demon likes to further his agendas and doing random acts of kindness. He identifies as male and really hates show offs. He really likes mortals to the point of bizarre fetishism revolving around interacting with them.
Name:  Aedan
Starting location:  The western island.

Body:D6
Mind:D8
Soul:D4
Avatar: A human top half with a spider body (a drider basically). The human part is a red headed woman with blue eyes wearing a simple red shirt in a commoner style. The spider part has gold and black rings of colours along it's legs and the main body is black. She one and half humans tall.
Personality: A quiet demon, not shy, just thinking most of the time of how to turn the room into a deathtrap. She doesn't like a direct fight, perfering to use traps to wear down foes, but if she must fight she will berate the dying mortal for not dying in her hallways. She is unaware of her sex appeal, getting confused why in fights to the death, some mortals glazes drift downward.

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

Body: d4
Mind: d8
Soul: d6
Avatar: A very slick and tall man wearing midnight blue morning dress and wielding a cane with a ivory globe on it. In his waistcoat pocket is a golden pocket watch and has a bloodstone signet ring on his right hand's ring finger.
Personality: Charming, but not very loyal. He will take the perspective that is most useful for him. Keeps a cool head but is still dangerous, almost never loses his temper. He likes to walk in the world of mortals and play with them, maybe even favouring one or two.

A kind of faustian Mephistopheles.

Body: d8
Mind: d6
Soul: d4
Avatar: this creature appears to be a rather large (giant, in fact, easily four times the size of a regular human being) ball of matted, black, extremely greasy hair stretching messily in a great many directions. From this ball stretch several highly unusual appendages that resemble human extremities - three legs with human feet, and seven equally human, albeit rather unusually long arms. If you look carefully and the creature looks right back at you, you'll notice a curious set of 5 unnervingly human eyes looking back at you. All the appendages on the creature's body seem to have been placed with no obvious rhyme or reason, following no obvious concept of symmetry.
Personality: very shy, mostly likes to spend time going on walks, devoting time to its hobbies and taking care of its own home, sometimes dabbling in runic magic - never got the hang of that chaos magic thing, as its looks clearly indicate. Hardly speaks at all, and prefers to spend its time gainfully employed in some fashion, whether it be an exercise in creativity or just plain lugging things around for some reason. Is generally quite gentle with mortals when meeting them, and well-mannered when it does so. Responds well to being treated nicely, tends to run when approached with hostility. Favorite hobby is the building of various things, starting from unusual rock sculptures and ending with the building of ornate homes in wilderness areas.

When you mean "four times the size of a human being", do you mean four times the height or four times the volume?

(( Either really, within reason. I would not allow for example, a mile wide pancake. But yours seems fine.

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

Oh, that felt good. Slivers of strength rise up to meet you as you begin to plunge, to plummet into the world. The fall will be long - long enough to observe, to steer. Land opens up before you, and you look over it, spying, surveying. The great island city besides the world spring, teeming with peoples of all kinds. The skyward peaks of the western continent, towering higher than even the tallest of creatures. The swamps and coasts of the northern lands, one savage and vibrant, the other peaceful and bountiful. The deserts of the south, abysses of sand in which whole cities have been known to disappear. This world has it all, every kind of terrain imaginable. You could go almost entirely where you wish.
But something has slipped your mind, you think. A body, a place, surely that is all? But no. You need a name. one with which the mortals can know you. Fear you, or love you. then, then you can start.

Name: Shistus Primulus
Starting location: the skyward peaks of the eastern continent, where the air is fresh, the people few and the materials plentiful, a location tailor-made for hermits of all walks of life and pseudo-life. In fact, Primulus lives in a particularly hermit-rich, very thought-provoking and especially scenic region. It wonders why more people don't live here, really. It's got a perfectly wonderful grotto and everything, filled with interesting-looking rocks and junk that it's found on the varied skeletal remains littering the region.

Name: Maximus Augustus Xelion
Starting location: The great island city rich with races and people of all walks of life. As Maximus loves riches and luxury he prefers great cities if at all possible. The great city would also provide him with excellent cover as it is very hard to find somebody in a city booming with life. The possibilities in a city are endless. In a city there is also provided for shady areas and crowds, the ones that Maximus likes to indulge in from time to time.
