Nice!!

first world gen (no crashes)
first embark

6 normal dwarfs
1 lvl 3 Rockmage   is this good?  :)

P.S.  Shouldn't the Gauntlets get the [Leather] token?

edit:  So is there a way to distinguish what you want collected via the clay oven regarding clay/peat/dirt?  Or better yet, is there a trick to collecting peat?  I only have the one collection point designated on peat cavern floor and I get job cancellations.  The dirt collection worked fine.  No burrows defined.

Give a dwarf a fish, you feed him for a season.
Give a dwarf a Fishpond, couple of buckets, build a Fishery, and enable Fishfarming labor; you feed him for a lifetime. (And get someone to clean and prep the fish)

Ah cool, new workshops! The Necromancer's Crypt and Herbalist's laboratory look particularly fun.

the Multiplayer bullet point has me in a loop though.

I had set up everything needed on my computer to run dfterm and set up my new world. I typed the command 'start-dfterm3' into dfhack. Nothing. Weird. I typed in 'ls' and there was no command. I went into /dfterm/hack/plugins/ and saw the dfterm3.plug.dll was not even inside.

Were you pointing out that dfterm3 was a thing that exists and we should totally check it out and install it independently, or did I overlook something? Are there more steps on the DFhack side of things than starting a plugin? Does a setting up a Masterwork dfterm game require more steps than a vanilla game does?

I have a question, why are so many options disabled by default now?

Specifically, why are the timberyard, Church of Dark Depths, the Fountain of Youth, and the Hall of the Mountain King disabled?

Take a look at the changelog.

Mainly because Meph cannot change the options menu on the road. I'd imagine there will an be options menu overhaul when he gets back and can do the voodoo on the source code. Lot's of obsolete things are getting thrown out and new options will probably be put in their place soon :P

Many things that have been reported have not made it into this update, because I released it earlier then I thought. That includes the bone stack fix for kobolds and orcs, or the leather gauntlets.

Sad to hear about the spatter-add bug. Can you give me the save, if one exists? I have been asked to show some in the dfhack forum, and I dont have one where spatter-add is the cause of trouble.

Congrats on the lvl3 Rockmage. I embarked with 100 dwarves once, had one Lich in it. Good fun.

Many Setting.exe options dont work anymore, because they look for outdated entries. I dont have the source code with me (a fact I regret quite a bit by now) and it will have to wait till I am in Germany again, in 1 month.

Multiplayer: I literally just read about it while I uploaded the update, so it is just a heads-up: Hey guys, there is this project, check it out. I will have a proper look at it (and try for a pre-installed version) once I am back in Germany. The same is true for the Digging-Invaders and Rendermax, a lighting plugin. My netbook would be completely overwhelmed with such tools.

Where apart from Germany are you going in Europe?

I have been almost everywhere in Europe, I am only going to Germany because all my stuff is there. And since I have been to all countries of North/Central/Southamerica, as well as Australia/NewZealand, but only 1/3 of Africa and 1/3 of Asia, I'd say I go to either Africa or Asia next. Still some countries to see there.

GO. Even for just a day. The air, the people, the freaking colour of the grass is something I haven't been able to find anywhere else.

And the leprechauns. Those bastards. If you go there, dig yourself a hole and put all you stuff inside and chain your dog on the entrance.
Also, what about caps/helmets?

I actually can't play these recent couple of versions at all. Sometimes I can get through world-gen, but I'll only make it past the Play button 5% of the time. I did successfully play an embark for a few hours, but when I tried to load up the savegame, it was a no-go. The reason the crash logs give are the add-splatter .dll.
I assumed it was because my .Net Framework is a little outdated with 3.5 (thanks, 64-bit XP!), but the fact that I occasionally succeed in playing just confuses me.

The idea of a tech progression is fine, but some people (like me) just want to... play. Could that be made optional? To each his own, of course :)

The spatter-add bug is not really a save file issue.  It happens in every world I create.  I have tried the plains, volcano, dessert, starter world, a modified large region and a medium region some more than once.   I have also used many different settings in my series of tests. Every try i make a world, click "play masterwork DF," then "Dwarf fortress" and then 100% of the time it crashes.

I think it might be more of a hardware issue or just something about my pc that the dll does not like.  My pc is rather old, it has a P4 3.2 ghz CPU, 4 GB ram and windows xp.

All I have found out, doing way more hours testing than most sane man would, is that version 3d (it is the first version I played) always works with the dll and 3e and 3f only work if I take it out.
