after some consideration i have gone to do a bit of Noble workover so that you are not completely out of a job...
Sooooo...
Would it be easier if I just ditched the part about their father being maimed and write them as trying to found their own trading company?

Just a couple of quick questions to clarify while I work out by turn.

How many people can a single cattle feed for 1 meal?
Also do I have any younger mounts that aren't listed because they can't be used at and can I have 1 spare? It's for RP but if I can't it's good I'll just lose 1 man from a company it won't make any real difference.

Harbringer, you start with a manro as soona s you have been granted land by a Liege Lord.

Fniff, post an action on what to do next. If you want to outrun them i will roll for it jsut as for the battle.

Patrick, 1.your thousand Cattle feed your entire tribe for one season at least right now, if you get more people you obviously need more food.
2.You have no younger mounts.

By the way, your tribe does currently need one parcel to graze its entire herds. Due to their nomadic nature they don't produce any nutritious feed for the animals and thus they only graze. Over the span of a season the lands reach a point where they cant sustain your tribe anymore thus forcing you to move on.

A Parcel needs two years to recover from one season of grazing. Should you stay longer than one season on a parcel it will still sustain your tribe but the parcel will be degraded and thus less worth for a sedentary landowner. However at a certain point a parcel becomes even unusable for your tribe and is simply barren.

As your tribe grows (or shrinks) the number of parcels they need to sustain themselves increases...up to 3 Parcels at which point if your tribe grows further you simply will automatically degrade parcels by being there.

If I get the money to upgrade the parcels can they sustain me for long or recover faster?
Like turning them into something that will also produce a crop that can feed the animals in addition to grazing.

Nay you can't your people deliberately chose a Nomadic Lifestyle, thus they refuse to farm. Besides if you start to set up farms you are obviously no nomadic Horse Tribe anymore...

Hmm good point, this raises a problem, after 3 season the land is gonna begin degrading.

How much would feed for a full season cost?

let's see: 1000 Windborn- Horses and 1000 Cattle that would equal to some 4 or 5 Ducats.

Well thats gonna be difficult.

How much does it cost to upgrade a parcel to farmland? I can't do it myself but if I make some money I could pay for Shoot to do it, then I take the crops and he gets the tax income.

I can use the herd and foraging to supply the humans fairly well.
I guess I can graze the horses across the border each day while the companies are patrolling and keep my parcels for just the cattle.
But this is going to be very costly. Although don't the cost of the horses get covered for me? They are technically part of the regiment.
