Nah rules are mostly only important for rulers.( that was a terrible pun)

Just start roleplaying and post your actions in bold.

There's my post. You don't have to take the map thing into account, that's just a plot device I used to introduce Farah and her crew's mannerisms properly. You don't mind me detailing the personalities of some of my crew, do you?

I'll start in the same city as before, the one right above Darkbrook.

Name: Gregory Montal
Position/Occupation: A recently blooded mercenary commander
Physical Description: An average height, well toned muscles. He is balding, often shaving all of his head hair, except a large, generally well trimmed beard. He has dull green eyes, and all in all, would be rather unnoticeable, expect for his loud, deep voice.
Backstory: Growing up as the son of a successful businessman, he was fairly well educated, and helped his father with his business. After his father died, he took over the business, and it slowly grew. But, after a few bad years of trade, it all came to an end when a major convoy was destroyed. Gathering what resources he had, he looked into possible ways to support himself. Soon after, he heard of a job offer of a caravan looking for a group of soldiers to defend them. They were still gathering supplies and would leave in a few weeks. Selling off what assets he had, he hires some men, and goes to an old friend. Jeremy Hac, a grizzled veteran, helped him to buy equipment for his newly hired men. After training them, and getting them all to professional levels, they leave with the caravan.

After a few days of travel, the caravan gets attacked by bandits. While a few of his men are killed, by mostly archer fire, they handle themselves admirably. The battle is soon won, and they get to the City of Heltania with out being further harassed.

Gregory's Band: A hundred men, while fighting in a large group, are organized into teams, which fight in groups of five. The groups are armed with three men with shields, and maces. The two others are armed with halberds (Allowed to replace pikes?). The groups fight with the three mace-men disabling the enemy, and the halberd men killing those fallen men, as-well as lashing out from behind the mace-men. The entire group is armored with light equipment. They are professional and blooded.

Is an Assassin character viable?

Nope. Assassins are a no go. Due to past bad experiences with pure assassin player characters and the seldomness of player ordered assassinations, you would have nothing to do then hang around and bugger every ruler to pour money into your secret order which doesnt do much.

Really playing an assassin character in this type of game is a bit useless.

Elfeater no piecemeal units of five. We are playing here either with armies of thousands of soldiers or with Companies of at least a hundred soldiers. A Group of 30 would be entirely useless.

Ah, I meant that they fought as a large group, divided into teams of five, like squads within a company. Would I be allowed to boost the amount of men up then?

Alrighty, no assassins then.

I have some ideas for unorthodox professions since it seems like we have enough ruler and military characters. I'd like to know how viable each one would be for a character:

Prophet: Focuses on building a following through a new religion and utilizes it to gain influence.

Guard Captain/Police Chief: Deals with domestic problems in a specific city with the goal of increasing security and stability. Could handle a last-resort force in case of a military attack on the city.

Spy Master: Works for an influential person, does covert action in exchange for a healthy wage. Could perform assassinations, but that would be a rare scenario.

Hospitality Entrepreneur: I don't know the economics of this game at this early stage, but I'd enjoy opening up something like a Tavern/Inn, and gradually expanding it from a tiny building to a huge city landmark where important figures hang out.

Artistic Polymath: Similarly like the famous artists of the Renaissance. I could be the person that goes around building statues, drawing paintings, writing stories, making songs, etc., to detail major events, themes and ideas prevelant in the changing times. Even though this is the least likely profession to be accepted, it's the one I'd hope most to play as.

Would it be possible to control two closely-related characters, or would one of them need to be an NPC?

For Game purposes one would have NPC-Stats, but yeah if you make a good application you can play two closely related characters.

TCM: The Artistic Polymath sounds interesting, definetly going to be accepted if the app is good.

The Prophet is also possible although i have not yet made any Religion Mechanic. But yeah i can work on one if youw ant to play as that

Guard Captain/Spy Master don't have enough to do. If you want such a role propably make a Ruler or Merchant or General or something and become that as a secondary role, otherwise you will very soon be stricken by boredom.

We had one ro two Tavern Owners in the Yaks before which worked with...mediocre success, usually the player left a few turns intot he game due to loss of interest/nobody visiting his tavern. But if you want you can try that too.

@Gamerlord: sorry for the inconvenience, will do updates on everything soonish :P

@Elfeater: You either Start with a Company or a Regiment . I would suggest you start with a Company since the Reigning Players really cant afford Regiment-Strength Mercenaries right now, at least not at a price that would make it worthwhile for you.

Okay all that said, im going to update trade rules.
