You're expected to set up horse breeding, but there's no minimum quality requirement. Even some horses are better than none.

(( Well the breeding is basically a case of, when mare is ready one of the women brings a stallion, they get it on, woman leaves again with stallion until another mare is ready. Beyond that it's just them explaining what traits to look for in the horses to know which ones to breed from and which ones to give to a random soldier.

None of that requires any real work on my part, it's mostly down to the nobles with the land to get as many breeding mares as they can and then to learn from the women so they can do the job properly without needing a woman to hold there hand.))

This is the OOC thread - you don't need to use double parentheses. Also, since you refuse to give any horses, I was assuming any setting up of horse breeding would start by getting Sumpter horses, and then any improvement of their breeding would involve you. Those are things for Ghaz to deal with, though.

The breeding will work something like this.

Any mare of your soldiers that comes into heat would be taken aside to breed anyway, the 12 women I brought will have a small group of hand picked Windborn Stallion picked because they show all the attributes of a Windborn horse, they will be used to impregnate your mares.
Your mares children will come out superior to a sumpter horse because of the genes of my own horses, then they will grow up, those mares will be mated with more of my stallions and so on and so on probably for about 10 generations. By that point your horses will be similar to my own. Probably not a perfect match but pretty damn close.

In that time the 12 women will train the 2 nobles you set as my Liasons in how to select the right stallions to use for breeding to continue refining the traits you want in your horses.


My people will be around to help but most of it will happen off screen on my side after a few lessons and demonstrations. The majority of the work and the results it yields will come down to how well your nobles do there jobs. About half your horses are probably mares and having 2 children each in a year that would give you 1000+ superior sumpter horses fit for your soldier in a couple of years, for the most part I'll probably be scouting nearby tribes so I can begin picking off the weaker 1 to expand my own people.

Name: Alexis Rhodes
Position/Occupation: Polymath
Physical Description: A blonde peachy girl with her hair tied in an oriental bun. Her wardrobe consists of dresses and the like, which usually end up being cut or ripped for convenience's sake.
Backstory: Alexis grew up in a culture with women being domestic slaves, and the only real options for their employment were being a house-wife, prostitute or mid-wife. Unlike the other girls of her group, Alexis was far more concerned with the natural world and philosophy than learning how to dust a house or find a husband. She began to translate her own thoughts on these concepts into various artistic forms. Her future would have been dismal if Sergio Val Assayaf had not come into her life. Assayaf was the primer Polymath of his day, constructing works such as Muses of Idle and The Fatalistic Garden. On a commission from Alexis's estate, Assayaf noticed one of her constructions. After recognizing her genius, Assayaf recruited her into his band of social outcasts, boys and girls, from various regions and social statues that would have had a very rough time in the world had someone not come along and allowed them to develop their creative talents.

   Alexis learned how to do everything from sculpting to acting as she went around with Assayaf's band, traveling to various lands around the continent and creating their own pieces with his assistance. In addition to being the most renowned Master Polymath of the era, Assayaf was a liberal, a partyer, a homosexual and a heretic, none of which were outstanding qualities in the eyes of the public. In addition, his working schedule was hampered by being a drunkard and a major procrastinator. The reason he was able to live a high life was that his patrons and royalties gave him a huge pay-out for the creation of any work, even if they did come out sparingly. Assayaf met his end after he got drunk at a party, and proceeded to fall into the ocean and drown. Though Alexis did inherit Assayaf's ability, she also inherited his negative traits.

   With Assayaf's death, the band of two-dozen or so disciples split up for their own advents. Some went into regular, small, private family lives while others pursued far-away places in hopes of becoming the successor to Assayaf. Alexis's journey lead her to the Blackwater Coast, where she now currently resides, looking for employment.

   Inheriting Assayaf's lifestyle, Alexis goes through a constant up-and-down swing of a lifestyle. One day she might be at a royal gala to display her work, the next few spent partying, and then later reduced to a peasant on the street until she can find another willing patron. On one hand she has Assayaf's blooming mastery of art, literature, expression, politics and philosophy. On the other, she has his unhealthy habits of drinking, gambling, material obsession, boy-chasing and laziness.

   In short, she'll put the Sistine Chapel to shame, you just have to get her to actually do it first.

Accepted although several points right now:

Women and Men are mostly equal on the Blackwater Coast, notable exceptions being the Horse Tribes, the Theocracy of Mourn (where women and men are mostly living apart from each other) and the Shogunate where women usually live are expected to live as house wives although there are instances of Women among the Warrior Class and even the Ruling Class.

Religion has so far had not great impact on the people of the Blackwater Coast so heres ymight be frowned upon but won't have any bigger repercussions.

As long as your careful with how you try to elevate it anyway. The horse tribes or at least mine isn't exactly unequal so much as the women largely prefer caring for the horses, breeding and the other day to day tasks over being trained to ride and fight from before they can walk.
Women are free to be warriors if they want in my tribe.

No offense, but I doubt a Horse Tribe is going to deal with any Polymaths at all.

Depends how things go, since I lost my land and am working for Shoot I may end up gaining a title from him in time, or I might conquer the tribes and go back to living on the plains.

But either way once I have some money I actually will need to hire you for something.

As A Merc your men don't get a steady salary but are paid when money comes in. THus you don't have to pay upkeep however when you get money you have to gve most of it to the company.

[2] There is only one minor Clan you know of left. And up to now you haven't found any other survivors of your tribe.
