Misama Beam.

Also, found a typo. Ctrl + F "It's is."

Whoo!

Action: "Tungsten-Carbide!" Throw at the Elephant!
Reaction: Fall to the ground!

[GwG speed:1+1]
[EP speed:4-1]
Elephant Parade says his words and hellish purple black haze appears in front of him. The haze twitches and swirls, condensing into a tight ball. It twitches with pent up force for a few moments before bursting like a pustule and spraying a condensed beam of death at GWG.

Now you can react gwg.

The difference was 1.

Leap to the left.

This seems like it could easily get unwieldy in larger combats, or when some people are in combat and some are doing SCIENCE!.

Not really. Out of combat this isn't happening, you just act normally. And since no one is targeting you, you don't react. It will slow down actual combat a bit, but it gives people the chance to counter spell, choose their reactions, etc. Plus it makes speed less broken since the other guy can still react, not just fall under a hail of 9 speed, 1 pot 1 channeling glass cannons. And it's true that it will slow things down a bit, especially in larger situations, but really, it shouldn't extend a volley more then three or so turns, even in large groups. Plus it makes fighting uneven numbers actually mean something and be much more difficult. You can't just speed roll your way out of everything.

[speed:4+1]

Of course, you went for the standard "jump of the way" rather then counter spelling.

You leap to the side as the beam of concetrated miasma hisses by with a smell like gangrene and sewer water. You say your own words.
[pot:3]
You summon a piece of tungsten carbide about the size of your fist. You try to pick it up. [6-1] Despite your tiny muscles, you heft the thing into the air and then hurl it at Elephant's head like an expert shot putter.

Now Elephant reacts, then we start again. Really, compared to something like d&d, this shit is simple.

You only have 1 pool left. I should have explained that, really. Pool, again, only regenerates by 1 each round when in combat. And 1 round of combat is once everyone has acted and reacted and everything. So you have 1 pool right now because you used 2 before. And after this reactions, both of you will gain one pool back, post your actions and continue.

Let me rephrase that. This has the potential to become unwieldy when some players are in combat and others are doing non-combat stuff. Note also that "unwieldy" does not mean "complex."

How so? Keep in mind this isn't being designed around forum usage exclusively, so in person this would go much faster.

[3-1]
[end 1-1]

That...rather surprisingly cracks you in the head and kills you outright, like dropping a bowling ball someone's head.

Huh.

So, uh...Who wants to fight gwg next?

Allowing players to say something like "Dodge unless I have 2 pool or more" might expedite the process a bit.

Also, if I can reserve, let me. I'm interested but need to look at a character sheet.
Name: Tsuchi
Appearence: I only need a fundoshi.

Strength: 2

Endurance: 0

Speed: 1

Dexterity: 0

Awareness: 1

It's first to post a sheet. Really, all ya got to do is look at the sheets posted and rearrange the points as you want.

And you guys can have a set reaction if you want, but that might result in hilarious deaths.

Oh and for this next test, lets say that you guys have 5 pool and that it never depletes. Rearrange stats as needed. (ie put those points into something other then pool)

A default response of DOOOOOOOOODGE might speed things along in some cases.
