@GWG:
That's why you also use the CasterIsImmune word.

Which, say you cast IcelandicMetalDeathBear Animate CasterIsImmune. The first thing it attacks is you, the caster. However, it's paw just passes harmlessly through you. However, the guy cowering right behind you happens to be struck, and killed. And if his body should slam into you while it's stuck to the bear's claws, you're getting swept away anyways.

Or Uranium Explosion SphereAroundCaster CasterIsImmune. You'd be perfectly fine, the explosion would wipe out the map, but you'd survive. The radiation that follows, however...

So EnchantHeldItem WhenPersonNearby Strike would result in you being unrelentingly chased by enchanted objects; but EnchantHeldItem WhenPersonNearby Strike CasterIsImmune would cause deathtraps for other people.

Oh, but it adds 5 complexity, and has a 1/6 extra chance of backfiring anyways. Those few times it becomes AffectsCasterOnly. :P
Not to mention it's word is spelled only 1 letter different from 3 other words.

I've added the sacrificial word because I like it.

Current Triggers are:
When Caster is attacked
When Caster is damaged
When Caster is Killed
When effected thing deals damage
When a hostile player, creature or object gets within 10 feet of the caster
When Touched (by something other then the floor)
When Caster Commits Suicide (Large Difficulty subtraction)
When Effected object is badly damaged or destroyed.
When the caster activates it by will.

Any others?

Also, currently targeting words are broken into three catagories: Will, Dex and non-stat dependent.  Dex uses dex to aim, will uses will, and non-stat doesn't use anything, it just happens. Currently, they are:

Dex targeting:
Uses dexterity as the stat for aiming. Should have minimum target number based on distance to target, as well as vs the target speed if trying to dodge.

Fire foreward
Fire backward
Fire up
Fire down
Fire left
Fire right
Come from mouth
Come from eyes
Come from index finger
Come from all finger tips
Come from palm
Come from the tip of whatever the user is holding

Will Targeting: Uses will to hit targets
Like dex targeting, but uses will.

Appear where caster is thinking
Fire toward where caster is thinking
Home in on where the caster is thinking

Non-Stat Related:
Seek Nearest living creature
Seek Nearest heat
Coat whatever the user is holding.
Appear in the user's hand.
Affect user

Ideas or ones you'd like to see added?

Can we have randomize runes and or words?

Like, lets say "Iron Sword when does damage Random (Fire, Ice, Thunder, Wind)."A sword that changes element with every swing.

Of course, I'd love "When Suicide: Explosion" (Selfdestruct!)
Or "When Suicide: Eldritch Cat Staff", for the Wand of Hello Cthulhu.

I'd prefer Chaos to Random.

On that note...would "Of Wonder" or something be a possible modifier? Maybe it adds 2-3 random words, but you can't predict what they will be? Or, more intriguingly, multiple "of Wonder" words for things like "Material-Item" and "Item-Creature" and "Element-Target" and stuff...makes science a lot more fun, though.

Ooo!  A 'wonder' word that converts into a few random other words when used would be great.

I'm not sure if it should be merely cheap, or outright negative points though.  The former would almost never be used, the latter might be abusable ("wonder control staff" will rarely result in something bad, and should be useful with regularity.).

Hmm. I see two potential issues for that: It being overpowered/useless and it making being random difficult.

Considering you could get any word, it would be hard to balance the thing. I mean, yeah, it's random, but considering large parts of the list are made up of pretty good stuff, random would have a pretty good chance of getting you something worth having. So that should drive the price of the word up, but making the word expensive means no one will want to spend a lot of potency on something that could be worthless.

We'd have to do tests to see the degree of usefulness of like 100 different combinations and determine what the cost would be like that.

Alternatively, provide different percentages for various things.
Alternatively, reroll if the difficulty is (say) above twice the number of rolls made so far.
Alternatively, provide a number of different categories. "Random Pest." "Random Large Animal". "Random Elemental Energy". "Random Powerful Exotic Substance".

Maybe have variant random words for classes of objects/materials? Like, one of the words is always a shitty material- say values 1-5. Throw in one absurdly high costing item at stupid low chance and difficulty it at 3.

The main question is, how to deal with "random solid". Does it produce things such as solid flame? Or does it only generate solid objects? Does word order effect this?

Are corruptive effects such as Elder Nature and Blasphemous still applied if the spell is cast by the "On Caster Suicide" word? Seeing as they are no longer alive at the time of casting.
