Stranded (SG)
« on: August 14, 2013, 08:20:30 pm »

You have washed up on the shore of some sort of Island amid the wreckage of your boat. You don't remember why you were on that boat, or how you crashed, but you have one desire in your mind. You must survive. You lift yourself onto the shore, dragging yourself up onto the shore.

Current Objective: Assess your surroundings and find anything of possible use.

((This is a suggestion game where you can ask anything, and suggest anything. Whether it works or not comes down to rolls, and RL logic. First thing you might want to figure out is what Gender you are))

Look around the immediate area; if nothing seems scary, wonderful or immediately and easily usable to help our strandedness - find some safe and comfortable shaded area and take a rest.  Maybe nap a little.  We're awful tired.

Look in shirt. And in pants. See what gender we are. Then, try and work on figuring out our surroundings while catching our breath.

You look inside your shirt and pants. You appear to be (2/2) Female. You have short brown hair and lightly tanned skin. Your hands are small, and you have normal sized feet. You are relatively skinny, but by no means weak. You cannot check your facial features at this time.

Looking around, you see many smashed and/or snapped planks of wood. There are a couple crates washed up intact down the beach. The beach runs to the north and south, it continues around to the south but appears to head uphill to the north. The ocean is to the east and the beach continues behind you for a short time before a forest begins. It looks quite thick, with many vines hanging down from the trees.

There are several larger rocks scattered along the beach, and a white case hidden slightly by the sand.

Drag case, crates, and wood out of the waves. Rest can come later. First comes survival. Look inside once they're a safe distance from the waves.

It doesn't take too long to move the case and some of the larger, more intact pieces of wood. The crates take a lot longer, but you manage it well enough. You place them all about 10 meters away from the trees, well away from the waves.

The white case contains several bandage rolls, a bottle of medical alcohol, and a small bottle of iodine.

The two crates are nailed shut, and try as you might you can't open them with your bare hands.

Find some sharp rocks, or something neat heavy to brake the screws, or if we do manage to get lucky and find A nail conveniently out, we can sue A nail as A screwdriver ((hard as hell, but can be done)), or we can find A heavy sharpish rock to beat the area around the nail to submission.

Hmmm. Well then. We need shelter, and food, and water. Lets try and find a sharp rock of some sort. Find a long, thin branch we think we can break off, use a small amount of one of the bandage rolls to make a makeshift spear. Mostly to defend us while we traipse through the wood trying to find a stream. Make sure we can find our way back, though.

((...this was very confusing but I think I understand whats being asked... a bit...))

You search around for a good heavy rock and begin bashing the area around the nails on the crates. (20, 14) The first crate is opened rather easily with the rock, with only minimal damage to the crate and the side that was taken off remains intact. The other takes longer, and when opened, the side of the crate taken off has been broken to pieces.

The first crate contains (5, 15, 9, 11) a single apple, 6 full water bottles, a couple bunches of grapes, and 6 mangos.

The second crate contains (1, 10, 14, 18) a dull machete with half the blade missing, 20ft of rope, A decent quality fishing pole with a hook, and a large 20ft across square fishing net.

You put the items back into the crates and put the covering lossely back on the food crate, best to keep it safe.

Hmmm. Well then. We need shelter, and food, and water. Lets try and find a sharp rock of some sort. (10 + 5, 15 + 8) You easily find a sharp rock along the beach and a strong, thin branch that could be used as a staff. Taking one of the bandage rolls as well, (16, 66) You easily attach the rock and stick, getting a good quality spear. (7) Unfortunately, you used half of the bandage roll to do so, though you doubt the rock will get loose anytime soon.

You head off into the woods with your new spear to search for a stream, marking trees lightly to allow you to find your way back. (17, 19, 18 (I'm not making those up)) You find a large river with fish swimming through it clearly. The water appears to flow out towards the ocean so it should be drinkable. It appeared to be about an hour or so from where you left the crates. A quick sip from your hand confirms that its atleast not salt water. You sit next to the bank to consider what you should do next.

AHAHAHAHA YES

Lets bring our food and stuff over. We don't have a pan or anything but...what's the white case made of? We should start fishing for a while, drink some water slowly, and have a mango(don't eat the skin) to recover our strength. We can use scavenged grubs for bait(wash our hands in the stream before eating afterwards), and sharpen the machete into a knife later.
