It doesn't take long for the third creature to storm at you, in such a clumsy way do do not even need to
dodge. It is better prepared for your attack, but not
quite enough. You sense the enemy is barely saved by its flickering, and
deflect its incoming attack with your sword, extending the parry into a
jab that penetrates the armor, causing the shade to stumble backwards as it fades away.
The final shade, similarly to the one before, attacks in a predictable,
easy to block fashion, but this time, you can't use it to your
advantage.
After a bit of back and forth, you manage to land a hit, which mostly gets absorbed in an awkward combination of armor and phasing.
After trading more parries and dodges, you find an opening in your opponent's defenses, only to see it flicker out of existence for just the split second you would have needed to kill it.
Surprised by this turn of events, you miss the shade's counterattack, cutting over your chest, but your next attack lands
on your foe's neck, severing the head, which along with the rest of its body and equipment fades into nothingness. Everything is quiet.
