Catching flying creatures

My map, apparently, is graced by giant crows. I want 'em. Does anybody have any tips on catching flying wild creatures using cage traps?

I usually have some luck just having traps lying around or making small towers with trap on it around where I see them stick around if I really want them. If they're aggressive, having cage traps with ceiling over it and pastured bait does the trick too.

Nah, the wiki says giant crows aren't aggressive, so that won't do here. Thanks, though. I was considering doing that. Shame that nest box trick doesn't work any more.

Placing some below where they hangout usually works for me.

most flying creatures tend to stick close to the ground, so regular placed cage traps have some chance, otherwise some randomly placed walls with cage traps on top at least make sure they don't get triggered by any animal but a flying one

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.

Yeah I've captured nearly a dozen ravens just using basic cage traps.

Useless buggers.  Butchering only produces a skull.  I guess eggs are somewhat useful, though.
