Let's start by examining all the menus.

Look through all four menus. Don't screw with anything else.

Since attempting to hug menus would probably not work,
Look through all four menus. Don't screw with anything else.

Plus one, then imagine some sort of skeletal thing for the Chestfaces to melee around. Perhaps they'd fare better with something to hold them up.

It's probably not actually charging any cost yet (other than natural time/attention), as those have been well listed so far, so imagine a flat shaped sludge unit that slithers along the ground and specializes in immobilizing, tripping, or toppling foes; a mobile bog, essentially.

Edit: Oh right; bold for actions here.
Second Edit:
> Spawn five Chestfaces to level up the spawner.
Don't spawn anything until we know what we could spawn; for all we know we can make much cooler and more useful creatures than the "Chestfaces".

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Imagine a dinosaur robot. With tentacles for hugging.
We will befriend everything.

They seem to be defined by squishiness/amorphness and weakness though...

We need a sludge variation that can harden and liquefy at will. Perhaps shift their entire selfs or just their arms into objects like shields/blades as well, for improvised combat?

That sounds like a higher cost unit, what with its versatility and strength— see, the entire reason I suggested what I did was because it seemed like a neat middle ground between expense and having an ability; probably sacrificing the weak attack the Chestfaces have now for a combat modifier we can take advantage of.
On the other hand, it would be nice to test the limits of how much strength and ability the designer can stack on, so I support this imagine if mine fails.

Hm, neat; so in other words we get to design as many creatures as we want so long as we're specific about their shape and intended result.

Imagine a dinosaur robot. With tentacles for hugging.
We will befriend everything.
Clarify this into a durable and compounding unit that can sticky-grapple units to induce conversion; turning them into slightly slimy versions of their previous selves, on our side. The strategy with this is that it can soak a few hits reaching a creature, embrace it, then harden itself like that until the embraced has had enough.
If the system gets annoyed about not having have enough things to evolve this from, or the cost is absurdly high, imagine a "precursor" to the above that only has conversion hugging. If that still pretty expensive, imagine a precursor to the precursor that sacrifices/merges itself to make the conversion happen. (Framing effect ahoy! Suspect that the costs would have been lower for the first two if the third wasn't there?)

(There were going to be more edits here, but the game moved while I accidentally slept.)

Spawn a C and 5 Chestfaces.
Let's not flood dexexe with unit idea we won't use.
