Turn 2 - Preparing for Adventure

I will get meself a rapier of good quality.
Lookin' about the town, ye (2) can't find a bloody rapier anywhere. These landlubbers just haven't got any class...
(3) Though one feller offers ye a fine cavalier hat when ye ask about the sword.

Ask thee drunken cap'n if he'll part with a nice scimitar and a small pouch of gold in exchange forrr me silence.
He says (5) "Aye, anything, anything!" without hesitatin' an' goes to fetch 'em for ye. Someone else entirely comes back, since he likely don't want ter be seen 'round these parts no more, but ye've got yerself a fine sword an' some gold, so it don't matter much who brought 'em.

I be needing more leeches! Where do ye find leeches in this town?
Lookin' for some medical supplies, (4) ye manage to find some "unattended" jars o' leeches, some reasonably priced charcoal, and a couple rolls o' cotton wadding no one's sure to miss.

Check personal money, and look for a pistol for myself. Report back to the captain.
Lookin in yer pockets, (6) ye find ye have more coin than it be safe to carry, in 50 different currencies. Better avoid the seedier parts o' this seedy port. (3) Despite this, ye manage to find an old but serviceable blunderbuss pistol.

After checkin' back with the Capn', ye make good on yer purchase o' the 8 fine cannon and bring back those 5 men to operate 'em. The Capn' hires them on.

Ah shall check my kit to make suren i have everything Ah need, for mah work, ah also Inspect That ship's stores for Rope n Tar fer caulkin an' Spare timbers and nails
Ye find in yer kit (3) plenty o' tools but no hammer, saw, or pryin' bar. The Quartermaster previously found the ship be fairly low on all stores exceptin' Gunpowder, but lookin' around with yer more specialized aims, ye find:
-(4) A goodly amount of spare rope.
-(5) All the spare timbers ye'd ever want, with many different kinds suitable fer any purpose.
-(4) And plenty o' nails.
Not things that most folk'd notice when takin' stock o' things, but ye thank the high seas. No tar nor glue neither, though.

Darrrrn. Better get me some nice cutlasses an' pistols fer lootin' ships in th' near future.
(6) As chance would 'ave it, ye looked fer a gun in all the same places yer shipmate Scelly did, an' since he already nabbed the decent one, ye kept looking. Ye found neither pistol nor cutlass, but ye did find a pistolcutlass: http://www.aurorahistoryboutique.com/products/C000074.jpg

It be a cutlass with a pistol for a handle.

Look for the required food, bedding, rowboats, and cat. Also look for muskets, and axes.
Ye join yer crewmates in searchin' fer the prrrovisions
-(2) Fer some reason, the food vendors seem ter be closin' down fer today
-(2) As arrr the purveyors of any kind o' bedding
-(2)! And no rowboats, neither. But perhaps yer carpenter can cobble some togetharr.
-(4) Ye find the whip alright, though. Hopefully ye won't have ter do too much floggin'. Except fer these bloody merchants.
-(4) The warehouse had 16 longarm muskets for a right steal o' a price, (6) along with 200 weight of sterling silver shot, probably 'round 1200 balls in total, that ye just couldn't resist. Put a dent in yer money, there.
-(1) While considerin' a nice set o' boarding axes, someone pinches yer coinpurse! Ye didn't catch the scallywag, neither. While ye got more back aboard, ye'd rather not risk it. The sum ye thought safe ter bring ashore ye divided amongst yer crew. Perhaps one of the lads still has enough to get the rest of what ye need.

Go into town to buy some equipment fer meself such as a sword or a flintlock.
The Capn' welcomed ye aboard and sent ye out with some spendin' money, ter put ta best use. Ye won't let 'im down!
(1) At least, that's what ye thought. Mistakin' a pub fer a smithee, ye quickly find yerself in trouble when ye ask for a sword. The drunkard who at first looked like the shopkeep turned right roarin' red and leapt upon ye, cursin' that he no longer 'ad his prize "schimmitarr". Yer a bit fuzzy 'bout events after, but when ye ope'd yer eyes ye had no weapon an' no money neither. Still, twas a rather fine knife ye dug out of yer arm, so 'least ye not be empty-handed. Except o' the blood. In yer hand.

The beginner's luck seems ter be falterin' abit, I see. But seems ye soon be ready ter leave port, if ye can just acquire some more things.

Head into town one more time, buy the pistol, then find a back alley, pull up a flagstone, and dump half my cash in. Then go buy a diamond or other jewel with the rest. Head back to the boat.

Swipe the supplies I can get, buy the rest. If I have enough money left over, buy a nice dagger for digging bullets out of bullet wounds, and brains out of boarders heads.

Aww rrright!  Now that I 'ave me a fine weapon and some morrre gold, I visit a cerrrtain pet emporrrium and inquire 'bout a good seafarin' companion.  A parrot orr tame rat would do.  Afterr all, any respectin' pirate has a companion, and I be havin' to look imporrrtant as the diplomat.
