I'm sorry, but we'll need to perform an exorcism on this thread.
Just to be safe, you should all wipe your hard drives clean then set them on fire, then drop your computers in an abandoned mine shaft. Anything less than that is just begging for your own deaths.

BE AFRAID

I live in Singapore and I've been using Deep Quantas' tileset for DF 0.24 because the dwarfs just look better.

Since Dystopian Quantas came out, I've been wanting to download the graphics set. Unfortunately, people have been uploading it to rapidshare (and/or megaupload) which doesn't allow me to download from this region.

Is there another way I can get the graphics set or your installer?

I've loaded it onto FileFactory which apparently doesn't have the same IP checking  that RapidShare does and so should be accessible in Singapore.

Graphics tileset installer (via FileFactory)

Let me know if you can access it.

Please try again later or upgrade to FileFactory Premium for instant access."

Aw frack no, no, no! Sorry Das, I really got to trouble you again. Did I mention I'm on a campus connection? Jeez, these uploaders are brutal. Any other options?

Has anyone else had this issue?:

After installing this and playing for a few days I decided I didn't care for the graphics and copied my saves to a new install...but they don't show up.

There is no "continue" option with those saves unless they are in the install that I used this "Easy graphics installer".

Any suggestions are appreciated as I'm afraid it will cause my saves not to work in any newer versions of the game.

I can't imagine there is any way this can affect your saves.

You'd think so wouldn't you? But no...I can't use the saves in any other install.

Anyone know anything about this?

The only file that is over-written is the init.txt file. The changes in this file are cosmetic so there really shouldn't be an issue.

The original graphic files are kept in their locations.

I would suggest that you copy the init.txt file from the Dwarf Fortress zip file and place it over the top of the one written by the installer.

The installer was made using Dwarf Fortress v0.27.169.32a.

I don't think there would be any issues with the latest version

Very cool, thank you for the installer!  I had a lot of trouble stressing over how to get tilesets and basically just gave up after taking a look at the folder structure in DF, but this makes it super easy.  thank you !

Personally I like having an installer for this. Anything that removes hassle is worth trying. As for not wanting the computer to do stuff behind your back... I gave up on that a long time ago. There's no way to keep track of everything happening in the computer anyway, and fretting too much about it just makes you paranoid.

Please note that the installer needs editing to work correctly with the latest version (33g). I'll post here once it has been finished and uploaded.

The new installer has been updated. Link has been edited into the first post of this thread. Enjoy   :)

Oh, for those worried about residue being left on your computer etc. The registry entry has been removed so now it only adds the graphic files and edits the init.txt file.

I have also placed a check to make sure you have selected the correct directory for installation.

Hope you all have a merry Christmas.
