I had an idea about a C&C crossover with WH40K, and it damn near blew my mind. I could just see Kane and his Brotherhood of Nod sweeping across the Imperium, not purging worlds entirely but converting the majority of the disillusioned populace into loyal and willing soldiers. Kane could offer a viable alternative between the two extremes of following the Emperor or following Chaos, and give people all the technology and knowledge they could ever want. He could completely galvanize a huge swath of the Imperium in short order, inciting widespread unrest and mass rebellion. The flag of Nod would be flying over so many locations so quickly and so efficiently, the Imperium may even treat him as another Horus -- only without the threat of Chaos.
I need ideas on this front. Kane, Tiberium and all of Nod's glorious tech are inevitably going to make their way into the WH40K universe in some capacity here, so I just need to figure out how. Kane could be a renegade Space Marine; this would explain his unnaturally long life. However, I feel that it sorta dampens who Kane is, so I don't favor this route. He and his followers could also show up in the WH40K universe due to 'ascending' through Threshold 19, which got them off Earth to a location none of us have any clue about.
There's also the matter of Kane's motivation to participate in the conflict, and his and Nod's stance on a number of issues. I personally find Kane's incautious and extensive use of AI and cybernetics to be pretty abhorrent, since it dehumanizes people to the point when they become literal killing machines. I'm sure the Imperium would agree with me on this one, though they would likely let their Bolters do most of the talking there. Although, Kane's use of machines instead of plain humans for a number of things could make him and his forces significantly less vulnerable to Chaos corruption and the like.
Imagine several renegade Space Marines of the Flame Falcons chapter joining up with Nod's Black Hand: 3-meter tall superhumans that can spontaneously combust into flame in battle without getting killed? Nod's 'Purifying Flame' fanatics would go apeshit.
Kane would probably have enough tech to figure out outer space quickly, too; since he got knowledge from the Tacitus, and probably salvaged Scrin tech as well, imagine what he could do with wormholes and teleporters. Traveling the Warp wouldn't be a problem for Nod, I wager.
Thoughts? Ideas? Please discuss. I've got goosebumps.
