So, yeah. If you want to play with Bay12 on a non-Bay12 server, go on GalacticaActual; IP is galacticaactual.dyndns.org. IRC is #dwarveninvaders on darkmyst. It's an ocean server, with our base quite a ways away, so read the travel instructions. FYI, the server will be reset for 1.7, so if that annoys you, then you'd better wait until later to join.

Well, an active Bay 12 Minecraft community would be nice.  I would be open to the idea.

It's metaphorical invading. As for the fortress concept, I have a building technique that might work quite well. I call it the Rotary Phone Base.

Ah, nice. I've been looking for a long while for a good modded server. I'll see about building Tempest Station there.

It doesn't even have redpower, since it's in 1.6.2 :).

If you have trouble getting in as some people have with the latest update, use the optional java string I included in the install steps

server invading sounds neat
going to peoples creations dotting around explosives and connecting them to a button that says dont push me :P

I vote for the contruction of Tacle Spires. Tacle Spires are great and the best.

So I've been looking around various vanilla servers to see where we could go. I guess I'll list a few here. None should have whitelist.

http://minecraft-server-list.com/server/10396/ - Galactic Actual; Looks pretty good in terms of setup, but has an ocean spawn to deter grief and the majority of players work alone. We may well be ostracised, as we were in SlaveHack. Apparently lag is also an issue, but on the bright side the long-time locals are total dicks and we will feel good about fucking their shit up.
http://minecraft-server-list.com/server/130394/ - TheVanillaBlock; Just a vanilla server. Not really anything to say about it. Apparently moderation makes erronous bans sometimes. High population (mid high teens to mid twenties most of the time)
http://minecraft-server-list.com/server/167950/ - McShadowrealm; Vanilla, no whitelist, can't be too awful since they have a somewhat steady population and nobody whining in comments. Only 8 players maximum though. So we would likely fill up the server. - Struck off for low population cap.

Only 8 peeps kinda kills the last one. I'd vote for the first one if we can't find any others. The ocean spawn won't be hard to get trough, but if most of the long-time players are dicks they can probably call in the help of admins, so we have to be subtle and meet at a set location instead of suddenly all spawning in at the same time.

But getting a whole group to go into a whitelist application is pretty hard, and also might take a while.
