Aid with the construction of the spy sattelite

Note: I'd put some struts and SAS on it, to make it somewhat stable.

Well, I'm worried about cost. If you think it'll be necessary for getting it into orbit- and mind you, we've got massive control penalties up there- then I could give it a shot.

We're already contributing 5 budget points to it. (2 from the facility, 1 from each participant). I hope we can manage.

Design superior drop fuel tanks!

Kerbon BonKer starts developing a more efficient type of rocket fuel.

Assuming he survives this, he registers with the employee training facility as a candidate for advanced materials specialization.

I will lend him my notes from 2 turns ago, assuming they're usefull (Should give you a small bonus)

{6}-1=5, {5} - Together, Trowah and Robert build an exquisite satellite, dubbed the Chasm. It combines both the K-1 and K-2 orbital reconnaissance modules, although the solar cells can only power one at a time, alongside the antenna and control electronics. As it uses civilian batteries, it must shut down unnecessary systems when not getting power from Kerbol. Due to limited chassis choices, it is housed in a small, scaled down rocket body. None-the-less, they managed to design it into a form that doesn't overly hamper a KR-13D. Realizing that this still wouldn't be enough for orbit, they fit an engine and, with luck, enough fuel to carry it from a KR-13D into a stable low-Kerbin-orbit (They note that the interceptor will need to bring drop tanks, and will need to use all of its fuel before detaching the satellite). The base commander recognizes their heroism, and increases their funding.

Robert Von Kermin receives a memo from the on-site bureaucrats that he is nearing the apex of his career, and will shortly be retired in shame to a university. He is needed to educate the next generation of space personnel.

((Note to self: Read ALL actions before writing up the turn post. It is important.))

{6}-1=5 - For his first act as a KSP employee, Alarin builds the Trench-I class spy satellites. He also adapts his design to the standard rocket chassis, but doesn't trust himself to modify the chassis, and the contraption is slightly unstable. It does have sufficient thrust to reach orbit by itself, and should have just enough fuel left to reposition itself. Once. Rather than use untested detachers, he fits extra civilian rechargeable batteries around the boosters, and the satellite should have enough charge to be used for a few hours each night. The base commander is cautiously optimistic, and will give Alarin a raise if it works on the first try.

{3}-1=2 - Jeoff II builds drop fuel tanks that manage to be even worse than those used by the airforce. They are scrapped before they leak even more fuel across the testing chamber.

{1} - Kerbon BonKer explodes in the testing facility while trying to work with highly unstable fuel. The construction workers are greatly upset by the lack of expensive damage.

Deaths this turn:
Kerbon BonKer, Korben Kluu

Replacements:
Urist Mc Dwarf, Squidgen

Both spy satellite designs are built. (For now, at least, unmanned craft still need a controller at the base. With the current design, everyone gets -1 to controlling them. The Chasm, being deployed into space, can safely be controlled by Mission Con-
That is, a nameless Kerbal with a radio should be fine. Someone just needs to fly it there.)

{5}, {3} - Nothing notable happens, aside from a would-be intern being denied entry for majoring in suspicious topics in KN University, being registered as a KN citizen, and trying to bribe the kerbal resources officer on-duty with lima beans.

Why is Alarin's 5-rolled-spy-satellite better than Trowah-and-Robert's Two-5's-rolled-spy-satellite? I think?

Also, how did the KN rise to be a global power again?

"Alright! I'm the likeliest operator/pilot of these things, so I think I get to choose which we send into space. Is that acceptable to everyone?"

(What kind of accent should Kerbals have?)

It is worse. Much harder to launch, more likely to fall apart if it encounters a harsh space-breeze, and more likely to explode. I forgot to change the weight before, and have updated that (Chasm gets more, as it's relative to size class: payload vs small rocket. More confusing like this, I guess, but I'd rather not do strange things like add 50*s for heavier vehicles, and don't want to have to figure out what everything would really weigh or use too many symbols.) It may look to have better power, but that's because it only has one of the two recon modules.

Also, how did the KN rise to be a global power again?
All Kerbals are assumed to be generally less competent than their human counterparts.

...Not much point to the Trench, then, is there?

Please run my action last.
Locate a spaceworthy spacecraft, capable of carrying a Chasm satellite. Do a big speech on how the Chasm was made.

With the spacecraft, launch into space and get the Chasm into orbit. Land safely, in friendly territory. Overall, don't die.

Remotely launch a Trench-I. Ideally very remotely.

Well I suppose that one guys notes didn't help much. Or at all.
Not that rolling a 2 instead of a 1 would have mattered, but still.

ANYWAY:

Name: Captain KirKir
Proffession: Kerbalnaut
Bio: The original Kerber baby, KirKir was famous from a young age for his acting talents in baby food commercials. As he grew out of that demographic he went on to play himself in a space opera serial show that gained a incredible following due both to the shows idealism and the way Captain KirKir emphasized every phrase he uttered. Now, his acting career over, his fans have convinced him that space needs him to boldly go where no Kerbal has gone before.

Draw up blueprints for Superior Drop Fuel Tanks. ((should give a bonus next turn if successful, right?))
Oh, and what exactly does specialisation do? Does it require an entire turn to train? Or can you do another action the same turn?
Also, Recommend that the base commander uses any spare budget to construct an on-site fire station.
