Political Stability: Meh
Random Events: More is kinda nice, but stability isn't bad.
Difficulty: Is that even a choice?

Did you land on the Mün yet? My first few tries left a few new craters there.

Kinda impossible in the Demo version I'm afraid :(
I can't even get a actual ORBIT going.

Political: COLD WAR/WWIII (whichever it tips the balance for, if its the deciding vote flip a coin)
RANDOM EVENTS: Chaotic

no point playing an RTD of KSP (both of which are known for stuff going wrong spectacularly) if stuff isn't going to go spectacularly wrong

Well, I managed it. Eventually. If you need help, there are plenty of guides in YouTube.

Okay!

More-or-less averaging results ...

Political stability set to COLD-WAR
Random events set to CHAOTIC
*Special* difficulty set to SUPREME SYSTEM OVERLORD

Results validated

Loading ...

Generating appropriate weapon systems ...

Kerbalizing history ...

Redeeming failures ...

Okay!

It is now the year 1949 KE. Two major factions have risen from the ruins of Kerbin War II: The democratic Kemerigo Nation, which handily ended the war with an unknown super-explosion, and the somewhat less wealthy Kerbal's Republic of Kerbin. While Kemerigo, undamaged by the war, enthusiastically sends aid to help rebuild the infrastructure of their new puppets, a displeased KRK licks its wounds while measuring its own meager war gains. Expanding landwards would risk the retaliation of the newly mighty Kemerigo Nation. And so, the Glorious Leader announced that the newly created KSP would lead expansion in a new direction: UP!

Wait, does everyone work on their own projects? I thought I would just be going out and doing the crazy things the engineers would design.

Well, no. We all have access to all resources/ships/ improvements to parts. But you probably will still get crazy things from the engineers.

Start working on a revolutionary device called a parachute. It will allow capsules to descend safely.  Make it as safe as possible, no matter how much money I have to throw at it.

Really? No parachutes? That could have been bad.

I added a plane. You may work on your own design, help an engineer, or try to get some flight experience by flying the newly added KR-13B Jet Interceptor.

Or terrible. For those of us playing a 'Naut, at least.

Apply for some kind of mission for flight experience.

Genius!

A pity you're going to roll a 1-1 on it.

Attempt to invent a more efficient liquid fuel engine. Dub it the Kerblore A1 Small Liquid Fuel Engine.
