 * A quiet, shy, smart girl with poor self confidence. She's getting straight As but other students are manipulating her into doing their homework for them.
 * A loud, obnoxious jock whose parents divorced and his father beats him. He take out his helpless frustration by bullying other students.
 * A comic-relief stoner who's failing the class. He's full of heart and has ambitions to to be something, but lacks the talent and perseverance to make it happen.

No, it's going to be a plot an awesome twist. Because, y'know, all our plot twists are awesome (even the ones players notice beforehand and are try really hard to avoid)

Out of the remaining players, slightly under half feel like encouraging the girl and the stoner to get together. The rest of the players want to wait until something occurs to get their attention, although the jock is viewed sympathetically if not favorably.

Ok, but what do the players actually do? Are they suggesting actions to get the girl and stoner together? What actions? The players who "want" to wait...are they not posting, or...?

The suggestions are as follows:

4 of the players want to assign the stoner and the girl to be next to each other, while subtly encouraging the two together. One player has an idea that it will lead to all of the students (and potential interests) trusting us more once they see how good Lana is with people.

5 of the players want to go about Lana's job (teaching) and proceed to the next part of the scene so as to not play favorites. They are basically saying "Let's let the DM decide who gets attention first, because this is a new school year and stuff."

Let's put the girl and the Jock together, and let's begin cultivating a relationship with the stoner by giving him more attention.
