Again I remember from somewhere the Giant saying that this was the single longest character development in planning. He always intended to turn Durkon into Durkula, so I doubt it will be so easily pushed aside.

I'm wondering how much Xykon has accomplished since we last saw him. I mean, he was heading to Kraagor's gate, and he will have a much easier time with the dungeon then the Order would have had.

 All four gates were destroyed by a fatal flaw in their defense: Lirian's gate, was protected by nature and destroyed by something unnatural (Xykon) that wasn't effected; Durokan's gate, dependent on magic, was destroyed by his own self-destruct ruins, (And he personally was killed by someone who could drain him of magic); Soon's Gate, protected by Honor of Paladins was destroyed by a fallen paladin, Girard, who believed that only family could be trusted, had his gate because of a weakness inherent to his family; logically Kraagor's gate, which is guarded by fiercesome monsters to simulate his belief in overwhelming strength, must be destroyed in a equally karmic manner. And so I asked my sister, who also reads the comic, "What strength could overcome the gate's defenses?" She replied "The Monster in the Dark". Do you think this has any basis?

I do remember it being said that the MiTD isn't something made up for the comic, but it's something from one of the official rulebooks, but possibly just an obscure one.

Armor Class: Can't touch this.
Saving Throws: Yes.
Attack: Successful - undoes target.
Challenge Rating: Too high.
