My favorite part of cereal with milk is the cereal stuck to the sides at the end - almost all of it is still crisp, only the part stuck to the side isn't. And then it's slightly milky. It's almost worth dealing with the whole unavoidably soggy mess.

Agreed. Milk is disgusting. I don't generally eat cereal, but when I do I eat it dry.

I dont usually eat cereal, but when I do, I eat it the same way except I eat a spoonful of cereal and then a gulp of milk while the cereal is still in my mouth.

I just pour milk onto the cereal and eat it before it gets soggy.

Xantalos, most people's eating is bound by mortal worldly principles and, as such, are forced to eat relatively slowly. It is physically impossible for these people to consume the recommended serving of cereal and milk before the combination becomes soggy.

Worry not good Xantalos, for I am the same. Never once have my wheaties become soggy whilst I still hold breath!

They sell little bowls for that. You put milk in the bowl proper and cereal on a recess high and dry. Then you push the cereal into the milk a bit at a time.

I actually put the milk and cereal (when I don't eat porridge, which is rare. I need ma aits) into a bowl and leave it, then eat it about 10 minutes later.

I used to do the same thing with my weetabix. I sometimes take my spoon after it all soaks up the milk and I just demolish it with the instrument, an unrecognisable mass.

Once upon a time I'd just mix it up into a thick paste with some sugar added. The bonus was when the top layer would stay crisp but it would be gooey from there on, especially if the sugar stayed on the top.

When my mother was growing up in London in... pretty much poverty, her treat was to eat a hunk of weetabix with jam on it.

I tried to eat cereal the way you described in the OP -it was... meh.
I prefer eating rapidly with the milk and cereal in the same bowl -when I do eat cereal that is.

This is exactly how I eat it, my mom always made fun of me saying that I just inhaled my food.

This is about what my wife does, but she only waits maybe 2 or 3 minutes.

Ha, I used to do that (pour milk on cereal and let it get mushy) especially with Life cereal, there was a perfect point of moistness where it tasted very different (a lot better) than when dry or TOO soggy.  Other cereals I would also prefer not-crunchy - who wants loud crunches in the early morning *inside your head*?   Then why even add milk?  Just eat the cereal dry and drink a glass of milk later - much faster and easier to eat that way than all this little-bit-at-a-time with a spoon...

I think back when I used to eat cereal regularly rather than porridge I used to pour a bit too much into the bowl, that's why I had to leave it for so long.
