Striker and Septima make their respective ways toward the scene of the 'action'-and, without the net blackout in effect, they can get a wider and much more worrying picture.
Multiple attacks. No origin known. Eight points officially denies responsibility. HOUND teams scrambled...
[Striker Random Event=12]Striker flies amazingly free-the civilian lanes are quickly cleared, and though her fears being stopped because of his suspended license, he notices a small update in the corner of his senses.
~STRIKER unit~
Your Flight License has been reaffirmed by the Paradisum Council for the duration of (12) weeks.
Have a nice day.
...the Grey is no doubt already pulling strings in his favor. But do their favors come with a price?
...
He enters the airspace of the zone around Arclite, heading to ground-though as soon as he lands, he's stopped by a burly OCP combat droid who is supposed to be guarding the landing pad. Whom Striker notes, is not wearing any official designation. He doesn't have to listen to it's orders. In fact, he wonders if it's just here trying to feel important.
It thumps toward you with the air of a playground bully, beeping monotone binary language.

[Septima Random Event=3]Septima is hardly out her door when she hears an explosion...albeit, not from above. Down the street. Her Street. Her people.
Who would be attacking down here? There's no...
She is suddenly taken surprise, as a female, hawk-like Oid jetting over spots her and hovers downward. She can all but feel it's scanners on her. Judging by the paint job...it's a HOUND unit. Stark gunmetal grey with red paint slashes. Her wide eagle-like wings also seem to incorporate missile launchers...a clumsy design, used for aerial Oids who don't fight in close combat very often.
Your hud identifies her for you.

"Get back home, Mechoid. And maybe go get a tuneup?" The Bird squawks.
"This zone is under lockdown-HOUND authorization. Unless you want us to judge you too. We're busy here/" She says-in a tone of authority that tends to grate on your nerves.
Another explosion-and a spray of gunfire. A scream.
You think if this area were a hotbed of rebel activity you would have noticed.

Arclite Industrial ParkClair arms herself before heading out-to some stares from her former brothers and sisters in arms. But, no one questions her.

She can see the trees ahead-and hear the screams, when her comm pings. It's Blair...and he sounds like he's in a firefight himself.
"Clair, do you copy? Clair? We've got hostiles all over the Hydroponics Domes! Damn terrorists...they're putting off virus bombs, the bastards. Clair, are you there? -10% EnergyYour systems begin to go to work on it. While you can feel a certain fear creeping up your metallic spine, you're not a mere civilian-you were designed to be a soldier, and they bombarded you with attack viruses as part of your training. You stay calm, and keep moving.
The park is a scene of chaos-injured and infected Oids everywhere. You see a RIU unit seemingly unaffected, but she's the only one. A mechoid, a PPD humoid, even a small Fox shaped Animoid are all in various states of panic. To say nothing of the poor Humans.
But one person catches your eye-a figure cloaked in holographic armor, clutching a rifle. She's sprinting away from the park, away from a small cache of equipment your sensors tell you the virus signal is originating from. She has the air of one who has accomplished her mission.

Riu takes an electronic sigh of relief as her internal systems identify and eradicate the attacker. The horrible numbers begin to vanish from her sight one by one. As her vision clears, she sees the woman running away, her muscular cyber-enhanced legs propelling her at speeds far exceeding a normal human. But perhaps, not enough to outrun an Oid.
The device in the basket also continues to glow softly-every wave sending a copy of the virus program to every Oid in it's range. It's a weapon designed not for a suicide bomber, but for someone who wishes to harm machinekind only...in the shadow of Arclite, you can understand why.
At the corner of your sensors, you spot the Oid that passed by you earlier-the one you assumed was a pleasure model. She's in full armor and weapons now, and looks much more fearsome...
Your HUD identifies her as CLAIR.

Fox is far less fortunate-the virus program slips past his programmed countermeasures, digging into his mind, ravishing his thoughts and feelings...He falls from the sky, shaking violently. He's never known so much pain in his short life, nor does he know why anyone would design something so horrible.
-10% EnergyVarious computer viruses that effect Oids can be resisted with a successful WILL check, otherwise damage will be incurred-at which point, WILL checks are rolled every turn until the virus is deleted. Preforming no action in a turn but concentrating on curing yourself will give you a +5 to your WILL check and successes count as double in regards to amount of passed saves required to ameliorate the virus. Successful resisting or merely surviving a virus will give you a bonus to resisting that specific virus in the future.
Nanoviruses are similar, except they are spread through physical means-and resisted with an ENDURANCE check.
Every Oid can also choose to perform a 'Hard Reset' maneuver in an emergency-which renders them completely incapacitated and helpless for at least 1d3 turns and has a chance to damage existing Fios and Chip programs, but will usually eradicate all viruses currently present.
Extremely deadly viruses-such as RUTIACS-are special cases where all these rules may not apply.
